3tgte - what injectors?

Hello, i'm planning on changing the injectors in my 3t-gte. Heard the 13b series 4 are best to go for as they bolt straight in and are 550cc. How about series 5? I can buy some of these at a good price. Want something that can handle a fair amount of boost (20psi or so).
Thanks Joel

yeah, 13B turbo are the way to go.
I've heard conflicting stories about which ones are from Series 4 vs Series 5, and that they have different flow.
I read (perhaps worth nothing!) that the red tops are series 4, and flow 460cc, and the purple/pink tops are series 5, and flow 550cc.
HOWEVER> I have red tops, and have flow tested them at 545cc each??!?!?
Just make sure you get what you pay for! shouldnt be more than $60 each, cleaned.

Hi mate thanks for the info. I couldn't actually find any series 4, so have gone for the series 5. Got them for $50 each which seemed fair enough. I think the plugs are different on the 5, but that isn't too much of a hassle to change over.
Got a ct20b to go on so need the larger injectors for the boost I plan to run.
Thanks Joel

Whats a CT20B? is that bigger than the standard CT20 or something? I hear the CT26 is a good upgrade for that motor.

CT20B is almost identical to the CT26.
My understanding is its used on the ST205 Celica with the Gen 3 3S-GTE. It was also fitted to some of the later MR2's but I've heard they came with a ceramic wheel whereas the GT4's came with a steel wheel.
It is different from the CT-26 in that the turbine wheel is slightly smaller and the compressor wheel is slightly larger. The shaft is also thinner. The wastegate is set to a higher boost pressure 11-12 psi I think. It will bolt directly to the CT-26 exhaust manifold, but has a different outlet flange - 7 studs. It is a better turbo than the CT-26 but not that much better.
This is all I know about it, that info is quoted from various sources on the internet.

Its an excellent choice for a 3TGTE.
didnt know the shaft was a different size from the CT26 though.
I have heard of people using the CT26 shaft, core & exhaust housing, with the CT20B compressor wheel & housing.

So these injectors will fit straight in? sounds good to me... import/wreckers would be the best place to look i am guessing? This "CT20B", is it an upgrade of the CT20? would it bolt straight upto a CT20 manifold? and are these hard to come by?

Yes, the 13B injectors are a straight fit.
I have a set, recently cleaned & flow tested to 550cc. I might part with them for $300 (set of 4)
