Hey guys

I've got a mate with an aus spec sprinter which has shat its clutch master cylinder.

What can you guys recommend in the way of a replacement. Would it be cheaper to recondition it?

If its to be replaced is there anything that it can be swapped for with minimal fuss....i've heard you can use the AE82/AE71 and possibly some old celicas ie:ra23 but i dont know how reliabe this info is

Whats involved in the changeover process?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers Very Happy
Nick

I recently brought one from Auto Pro.. $70 I think it was. No need to hunt for ones from different cars. The Sprinter one is readily avaliable.

But mind you I brought a RA28 one recently and I think its identical.

Easy enough to change. 2 bolts/nuts hold it to the firewall and a split pin setup through the clutch peddle.

Worst part is bleeding it after changing it Razz

Yeah I got a new master cylinder for the clutch from PBR. Easy thing to do - just remember to use the old plunger (bit that connects to the clutch pedal and pushes in the master cylinder piston) as it is already set to the right length.

I think this master cylinder was used by Toyota in a whole lot of models!

Yeah, it's a pretty standard part the 5/8 master cylinder, I pulled mine out today and noticed it's been leaking heaps.
