hey im putting my 2tg in my car this weeknd just a few thing i need to finish off, i havnt tigtened up the cam chain tensioner how tihgt do i do this any othere things i need to know thanks.

Is it a new chain/timing guides?? if so, it should be mighty tight already with the tensioner all the way out...
If you are using older/pre-used ones justr tighten the tensioner i guess until there is no slack at all in the chain, and its not going to move off the gears whatsoever.

too tight puts extra/excessive pressure on the cam idler shaft bearings and the cam shaft sprocket bearings in the head.
Won't do anything though, except your chain would stretch.
Just make it tight, but not too tight!!

heya jas, you have to be careful with these, they are easy to overtighten and the tread in the tensioner will snap!!! i learned from experiance!!! so please be carefull when you do it, and dont forget, that extra tension is put onto the chain through the tensioner when the engine is running due to engine oil pressure active in the tensioner!!!
