I have videos of BlackSupra's old black Supra (ie when it used to belong to me). There's a video kicking around of a certain red MA61 doing a rather impressive burnout too!

i have a video of Norbie's poopra trying to run away from the dyno cell at last dyno day
And a couple of other random videos
P.S. Draven, my mates now live just around the corner from your MA61 wreck, so if you or anyone sees a black ST185, a white valiant ute, a black AE71 doing burnouts etc, or yellow RA28 - wave!

WEll last i looked was maybe yesterday?
Yeah I won't be in the country for the next 3 months or so come december, and my friend (other owner) of the shitbox AE71 listed in my sig is going to "minding" the rolla while i'm gone. So if you see it hooning around be sure to tell him off!
I'd drop by to say hi and lend a hand dude - but im working, in the middle of exams and leaving the country in 2.5 weeks.

I think mine will take that honour - with the different coloured panels, mismatched tyres - "it's so ugly it could be a modern art masterpiece"

I don't have any first-hand knowledge of a 1UZ-powered MA61, although I've heard rumours of the existence of such a beast, and there are a few people around who are in the process or about to get started.
Frankly I'm amazed it hasn't been done heaps of times by now - it seems like such a good match, and 1UZ's are cheap!

I think the problem is more the manual aspect. If I was to have a 1UZFE it would have to be manual.
I know for certain of one, not counting that NZ one which isn't running yet.

i can tell you right now, a manual 1uz into ma61/mx73 bay is going to be very tight
the cam covers will prolly come with 1/2 an inch of the bottom the clutch master cylinder
and there is absolutely fuck all difference in length between a 1uz, and a 5mge
from bell housing to tip of crank pulley, there is at max 2"
i'm worried about that big bulge where the heater/aircon bits go, coz i think the RHS cam cover is going to be right there
an auto would not be a problem, as you can push the motor forward until it clears these parts.
but when u want to keep the shifter coming up in the same place, you could be fucked
i'll find out the hard way when i got to test fit

cheers norbie - If dad decides to pass the supra onto me - ill probably look at doing the 1uz swap into it ..
It has the looks - but that 5m is a crud motor for such a good car
re it fitting - if it could be shoehorned into a ta22's bay - id assume - with work , that it woukld go in , though i would be curious to see what happens after the test fit ..
otherwise it may have to get the tried and tested 1jz/2jz swap

Several people have put 1UZ's into MA70's now, and MA61's have more room between the strut towers, so it follows that a 1UZ will fit without too much of a drama.

i'm not talking about width norbie, i have should have about 4" between cam covers and strut towers
i'm talking about firewall clearances
there may have to be some bangings a happening
and some shiftings of the clutch master cylinder
but all will be revealed/discovered upon trial fitting
