MA61 / RA6X spring rates? Sat, 15 November 2003 06:15 Go to next message
Just wondering how similar MA61 Front springs are to RA6X springs (spring rates would be great if anyone has them Rolling Eyes )

I would imagine that the supra with its heavier front would also have a higher spring rate? Also are the captive heights the same?

Trying to work out how well some SA63 (same as RA65 I believe) struts will fit into a MX62 cressida (has a 5M-E so would imagine what works well for the MA61 would be similar to what will work well to me). I'll prbly put the struts in and see how much the height changes by and the effect on camber (if its no good I can just swap the hubs / caliper onto my struts I believe looking at it quickly, actually I might just end up doing this anyway, what do you think is the better option?).

Cheers

Thats quite low isn't it Rolling Eyes I would have expected a bit firmer?

Any idea what the RA6X's rate is (ie to compare to the MA61 value)

Cheers

may be 'low' in absolute terms, but when you tak into acount the lever ratio of the suspension design, trust me its quite firm Nod

for full circuit use only, the supra would run about 300lbs rear, and 230 front

Ok, where did you get the spring rates from? Any idea what the spring rates for RA6X celica's are Confused

I'm guessing the spring rate will be lower (due to the lesser weight) and hence not suit my car real well Rolling Eyes

Also do RA / MA struts share the same spring installed height?

Any chance that you know the stock rates for RA6X or can find them? (Or point me in the right direction).

What would you suggest as a good spring rate to remove most of the boatness out of a MX62 Cressida (stabs in dark lol)

Cheers

wilbo, i have no idea what you might need Sad

BUT - if you call kings springs in QLD (main office, tech guy) and ask them, they can tell you anything you want to know about any of their springs

cheers
