we did this on the racecar. one washer (~1mm thick) should do the trick.
of course they are a pain to pull down, and even worse to put back together.

This sounds interesting! What will be the benefit from an extra 10psi? Will it yield much increase in oil flow?
What is the 'normal' relief spring pressure for the 4AG?
Cheers

sure there arent any other pressure relief valves that will thwart your efforts?

Also check there's no pressure release/bypass nearby the oil filter. (done in case the filter gets blocked)

Thats kind of why I was asking, just wanted to know if anyone's played with this stuff before to save me pulling the engine out 30 times

what can happen is that the reliefe valve will cock over and jam - typically closed - lots of oil pressure! (better than the alternative i guess) check the bore on the pump for wear before shimming - and sign of wear, find a new pump!
