If you race, one of these days you will get caught. I was caught racing, (and flogging) a modified lancer, what ever it was in my old TS astra. i was caught drivng 153 in a 60 zone. Luckily my car is not modded, nor did i have previously been caught, although I have dirven it to its top speed of 205km/h. But the point is, i got away with a 200 dollar fine, because i was being nicce and honest, and it was my first time. there won't be a second, and this kind of stuff goes into your record. Something you do not want! Leav the racing to teh track days, then i'll call you a hero.

Maybe they were just afraid, i.e. all of them have been caught before! haha.
not sure about teh 0-100 times... but a corrolla, it won't be less then 9. And that's for the very limited number of GTi that's out there. So Probably 10, maybe 11 depending on the condition of the car and how it has been maintained really.

0-100 times for a cs would be around the 11 mark. No less than that or I would be very surprised.

I'm not convinced. My brothers st162 does about a 9.5 (might be down to 9 now. I cannot see how a sx could be quicker than that (in fact he has never lost to one).

*shrugs*
9.5 seconds in factory stated time or measured?
Factory rated time for the SX/GTi is around 9 seconds (maybe 9.5 but I don't have the papers here with me to confirm). Personally I believe this is understated a bit.
The extra displacement of the ST162 would no doubt make it a bit quicker once you get over 100, and I find this is about when my Corolla starts to slow down..

Fair enough.
We did a 9.8 (from memory) sec run with no rev up at the start and not taking it to the limit. I would be interested to see the factory stated times for both cars....

What's stopping you? go to a cams club car and join! Under hundred bucks, you can get a license (2S)... then all you need is cash for entry.... and there is always a super sprint every weekend, or Practice days!! Otherwise, you could be walking or locked up... No joke, I was...
The AE82 Twin cammer had factory quote of 9.8 sec 0-100. I think the SX and GTI were very close to that (ie extra weight but more power)

HEY! That is like a 9.5 from a no-rev start from the toll gates on the M2. I ain't gonna rip it up there... Anyway, that was done with a stopwatch on a moby. I think a proper start would be a little better... I would be interested.

LOL, well the time me and Andy did it I had just handed like a Fiver over to the toll-lady and just fell a little self conscious about, well, you know..
Will have to go through the auto gates and launch it one day, what say you? I think technically the car should be a little faster than that too.

All this stuff only applies to Proper full on race cars

All you'll need is a rope to tie your bonnet down, a Helmet, neck to wrist to ankle clothing made of natural fibres (fire resistant) and a fire Extinguisher.

A stock CS corolla would be no where near 9 seconds from 0 - 100. The SX is approx 9.5 stock and from memory the st162 is a fraction of a second more. A couple of my friends have st162's aswell as my father and it is always pretty even between the sx and the st162.

Hand timed I reckon would work out to be about .5 of a second slower. So you are doing ok there. In fact, that's pretty darn good.

You don't need special clothing, just a cotton long sleeved shirt, a pair of jeans, and some kind of shoes made from leather.. sneakers etc are banned. Actually any synthetic clothing...
The Rope is to hold your bonnet in place in case of an accident ie if you run up the back of someone your bonnet won't fly back into your windscreen.
