1G-GZE Exhaust Tips Sun, 16 November 2003 04:12 Go to next message
Hi all.
I'm about to fit a 1G-GZE into my RA23.
Does anyone have any tips on exhaust system design/components please ?
Hi flo cat, resonator, muffler ?
Which brands are good and which do I stay away from ?
BTW, the ID of each of the two pipes exiting the exhaust manifold is 32mm, and if you took the area of those two pipes
in cross-secion and made it one pipe instead, it would be
45mm in diameter.
The engine is stock standard at present.
Thanks all.
Cheers,
Mitch.

'Cept for the problem the 1GGZE is likely to be louder owing to the fact there aren't any turbos in the exhaust stream.

You got that right big fella ! Smile
And I just noticed that the first pipe after the turbos rejoin in a GTE has a large single hole while the GZE has a pair of smaller holes.......so I wonder if its 'good engineering practice' to butt join these pipes meaning the twin holes just vent straight into the large single and then onwards down to the flexi section....?????
Mitch.
