Linear or progressive? Short stroke RA28 struts?

Hello, I want to get the front of my RA28 a bit lower.
Currently have 1 inch lowered springs but with some weight saving it doesn't look any different from factory ride height now.
So probably looking at 50mm lowered springs or so. I have some 35mm RCA's to help keep the geometry close to factory.
My main question is should i go for linear or progressive springs? Also, if they are 50mm lower I imagine they wont be captive anymore. So need short stroke struts.. I know AE92 inserts fit and are heaps shorter, but they seem a bit too short?
Thanks
Joel
