Just a word of advice. I had a GTI and yes they are a mad car. But they're hard to find in clean condition. On the other hand, Seca SX are a lot easier to find and there are heaps in original condition as well. I picked mine up just recently and (knock on wood) it's a dream... a lot cheaper as well. They don't look as good but for a cheap run about that goes pretty, much the same you can't go wrong.

Dont worry about a GTI or even and SX, go for a GTZ. You said you only want to spend around $8000 or so and want something done up a bit. Well for an extra $999 you could have this GTZ with all the work already done. This car would cost you over $17000 if you were to build it and have to pay for work to be done. And the best part is all the work has been done and you dont have to lift a finger, except to ring me and then pick it up. Here a quick preview and it can be seen in the members section if you want to know more. Sorry to the others whom are thinking about selling there cars, but this car is the best buy and it has more boot space Very Happy

Thanks and yes its insured. Most companies wanted $1400 + to have it fully insured. I went through a broker who uses "Lumleys" as their insurer, 9878 5588. Its only insured for $7000 and cost me $860, best to make some compremises. There only requirement was a self activating immobilizer, which mine now has. Good luck in your hunt. Kevin
