ebay is where I ended up getting mine from, ended up paying 120 USD because I was sick of waiting for one to be a bargain. It does cover both the 4age and 4agze, but the steering wheel is on the wrong side .
What year model are you after?
If you just wanted a certain section from it, I could probably hook up the scanner for you.
Cheers

i hope you get the email i just sent.
Im a little new to this site
If not:
Im putting a 4agze in my mr2. I want to change the rings and timing belt before i put it in. I just need all the engine specs so when i put it back together it doesnt fall apart when i dont tighten all the bolts to the right settings
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,
I just replied to your email, I actually thought it was someone else asking .
I'll see what valid info I can scan for you, the manual is for an 89 so I don't think there'll be too much different.
Good luck with the swap.
Cheers
Dave

Thanks for the email.
Yeah, i will be pulling it all apart. While im there i will probably do a bit to the internals. I need to get as much power as i can if im to beat my brother's car.
I hope a 4agze can handle about 300hp

Nope grey & standard tear drop mags atm.
I was going to put a 20v in it (see parts for sale) but after weighing up how much a computer, bellhousing, custom pelenum etc etc was going to cost for it, and how relatively simple the 3sgte conversion is. I've decided to go the 3sgte way .

If it's not too hard i may consider it? But from what i have heard it's not that straight forward. It might be if you were a mechanic or something

There's seriously a ton of info on it here (you might have to register with the board first).
http://www.board.mr2faq.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&am p;forumid=118
There's a few threads and links to peoples home pages which document a bolt by bolt conversion, so you get a few different ways to do it.
But also a heap of info on what other toyota parts will aid the conversion ie axles, brakes etc etc.
The 4agze is still a beast though man, and it should with a few mods be good for your 300hp.

I have to rethink that 300hp, I dont know if it will be enough. I think i will need more like 350-400hp. With 300hp i still dont think i will have a chance. This is why the 3sgte might be a good idea! 164kw standard 200kw easy!!! You might be onto something here.

"With 300hp i still dont think i will have a chance"
Of what, killing your self in under 5 seconds? Remember dude, your car only weighs like 900kg, 300hp is heaps in the aw11.
Not trying to talk you out of it, the 3sgte looks like a fantastic conversion, but there's a bit of a difference between doing it and a 4agze (fabrication wise).
Anyways, if you're trying to get down the quarter in sub 13's without spending a crap load, the 3sgte is a pretty good bet.

I need that much power to beat my brother's car. And unless i can get a shitload of power i dont have a chance. And FYI an AW11 weighs just over 1000kg's
His car weighs just under 700kg and has 104.5kw at the rear wheels.
Now do you see what i mean

Sorry, my mistake.
I always thought it was the s/c one that weighed 1070 and the na one weighed like 940. But I can't remember where I got my info from so I could be very wrong.
Have fun which ever way you go, I'll try and scan that stuff for you tonight.
Cheers

i was lucky, a dude from the states came into my work a few weeks back, he had owned a aw11 over there but had sold it.
he had seen mine outside work often so he decided to come in and say hi.
he also had with him a complete AW11 Toyota manual covers everything. ge, gze, c52, e51, auto the works.
got it for $100.
i have worked on my own car for the 8 years that i have owned it with-out any tech reference like this manual with-out any probs, but i couldnt let the opportunity pass on buying it...
p.s. you wont get 300 hp out of a 4agze unless you do a turbo conversion on it.

fyi - i have a 3sge in my aw11. less stuffing around than the 3sgte conversion (you need the aw11 s/c driveshafts to fit the 3sgte by the way)
still a fair bit of work

In the end it probably will have a great big turbo hanging off the motor. Untill then i just want to get the engine in the car
Bye the way, how does the 3sge go? Was it worth it?

How much is a respray on an MR2 these days? I've been thinking of doing mine while it's all apart.
Is your car an auto?
How hard was it to put in your motor? Did you do it yourself?

From what I understand, the americans call a targa top a T bar.
With the 3sgte conversion, I think the st165 and also the st185 axles can be used as well as the 4agze (there's a massive thread on the mr2 forums regarding it).
fatmr2: fried my gfs scanner this morning trying to find a power supply to fit (who would have thought 1.1 amps would fry a 0.9 amp device). So you will have to wait until I either buy a new scanner for my gf or find a scsi wide to 50 pin converter for my one.
Cheers

how much for a respray? depends on what sort of quality job you want. i'm looking at $3-3.5k for a baremetal 2-pac respray
car is a manual (has lsd too)s series gearbox.
car is also aussi delivered.
would not be too surprised if the front shafts out of a gt4 would fit.
4agze aw11 type unobtanium these days. custom shafts are about $600 a set

Thanks Dave.
Due to the fact that i have never done it before (When i take the engine apart and then put it back together) I've been told that wheen you tighten the bolts back up they have to be done to a specific torque setting. Is this correct?
And if so, Are they different to the 4age?

Just a thought but would a GT25/40 work on a 1.6l? Or do you think it's a little too big

"wheen you tighten the bolts back up they have to be done to a specific torque setting" Definately, and in the right order too! A good torque wrench is a good investment.
"And if so, Are they different to the 4age" The 4agze? I'm not sure, I can check for you tonight or hopefully I'll get some sort of scanner going in the next couple of weeks.
A GT25, that's the ball bearing version of the t25 isn't it? From what I've been told, a t25 or t28 would be a good size for a street going 4age.
There's a t25 on the 20v I'm looking to sell http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.php?t=msg&t h=23847&start=0&rid=3884

Yeah, I've got all the tools. It's just the settings i need.
That's why i was saying if the 4age is the same i would just buy the manual for that.
Either way, Things are looking good for the little mr2
My girlfriend is buying me a water to air cooler for xmas
My engine should be here in jan. And then all the fun will start.
I've made a few calls and i shoud be able to get a nice turbo for it too. ( I'll hit my girlfriend up to get it 4 my birthday )
Here's hoping

i have recently rebuilt my old 7 rib 4age that has the exact same internals as a gze apart from the pistons. i rebuilt it to the 4age specs in my old haynes manual (i did it before i scored the toyota one).
the engine is running fine so far at 7psi and 5000km's +...
