Sydney Dyno Day Tue, 18 November 2003 04:41 Go to next message
Guys,

i am organising a dyno day at MRC automotive in Castle Hill,

MRC has the lastest 2wd dyno dynamics with the lastest Shoot out modes etc, the dyno is only a few months old.

cost will be about $50 for 2 pulls with 02 sensor readings and print outs (power graph and data log from the run with all info on it) no leaded fuel can be used with the 02 sensor unless you supply your own LSM11 sensor,
all runs will be done in shoot out mode, and either myself or Mark from MRC will be driving the dyno.

Date to be conformed, will be mid December tho

Let me know if you are interested,

Dale

I am intrested in the Dyno day that you are planning. Hopefully my car will be out of the shop by then. Will the dyno runs include any tuning? (minor minor tuning??)

Cheers

Ok guys,

the 14th of december is the only date we can run it,

dont worry this wont be the last one we do!!

yes all mixtures will be checked and a printout will be supplied with the mixtures on it so you can see exactly what is going on,

i will advise you all now if the car is running lean and i dont think it is safe i will abort the run,

basically we will be starting at about 8:30, sausage sizzle will be on from 9, cold drinks will be avaliable,

trophys will be given to the following

highest 4cyl
highest 6cyl
highest v8
highest rotor

and Lowest power of the day!

its all about fun, so bring the cars out and give them a run, there will also be some very switched on guys there offering advice on how to get more power from your car,

let me know who is coming as there are only 50 spots avaliable and its first in best dressed, if you post here you are coming a spot will be held for you.

nah they dont let retreads on the dyno, coz i guess they will fly off above 140kmh, hence my need for non retreaded tyres

oh ok, wel i have retreads, is it going to b a prob? im thinking of gettin rims in the near future, so hopefully by then i will have normal tyres on them

does any one have advice on retreads, ie grip, safety, road noise, value, etc.

while im at it. does any one know what the lightest rims are made of, and any other info on such lightweight wheels?

ive heard gettin bigger sized rims slower your acceleration is this true? if so, why do pple get bigger rims in the first place? i thought they were faster?

whoops. didnt see, so they dont, for 100% let em on the dyno, what if you only accelarate in the lowest gear, cant they derive the peak power figures from that?

Re: Sydney Dyno Day Sun, 23 November 2003 00:20 Go to previous messageGo to next message
they usually use 4th because it is a 1:1 gear.
therefor u are taking the power of the engine, if you used 1st gear then it would be taking the extra torque from the gearbox too, and u would get crazy readings.

retreads are god awful, terrible grip, road noise aint too bad,
but i would never buy them

aww bro! das a shame, but dont u just use a emulsified synchornic velocitator, i hear that BOTH the spin tranquility and initial torque drive are 10, no 11! times better, then a stock standard synchro, stock meaning the one u get when the car is new, u know, str8 of the boat, no mods, YES!
