Put it this way, I have not heard anything GOOD about them.

I understand it was possibly a car for your wife..... so in that sense, I assume that it would not be being moddified. They do not take very well to mods so I have heard.

True, they are still a corolla and thus build quality is pretty good, BUT, there has been talk of the turbo just being slapped on the side of the motor by toyota in a very cheap way(or rather cheap as possible to the company).

I guess you have to think....... does this really justify the insurance premiums that you and your wife will possibly be facing being a turbo car and also the costs of parts and servicing.... if there is a differnce in servicing a turbo corolla compared to a normal one.

Hope this helps a bit,

Thats right. The original Corolla Sportivo was an AE112 7AFE Levin with a snail and an F/M intercooler. I think it returned like 115kw

Production was limited to 500 and they had the balls to ask $40k. And the ugliness of those Corollas is only rivaled by the current pig generation corolla.

actually it was 110kw. and there were 110 made

funny that

100 were sold to the general public, and the other 10 were used as press cars. then onsold.

they had a turbo recall done on them, something to do with the oil feed pipe, from memory, i'll find out at work tomorrow...i think there was a teflon bit inside the feed pipe that shat itself, and had to be replaced, due to it blocking the oil feed to the pipe.

fwiw...we ended up selling our only 2 for $28500 each.

www.fastlane.com.au

www.carsales.com.au

115kw all the the artices say
RRP (Recommended Ripoff Price) $37,990

If it were legal, a 90's 3S-GTE would be a good replacement

They came out with TRD clutch kits. Sounds expensive
