icon5.gif  Which Brake Master KE55 4AGZE? Thu, 20 November 2003 04:13 Go to next message
Searched the site and couldnt find an answer, can someone tell me which brake master cylinder can be used in a KE55 sedan to clear a 4AGZE engine? Will a TA22 one fit? T18? Tercel?
Thanks in advance Smile

Well, I dont know specifically, but the PBR KE55 one would be in the road a bit... a TA22 one would likely be a good bet with the reservior mounted up out of the way

a KE30 one is a straight fit, has the same bore size, and clears.

it has a remote reservoir for the rears, and a small reservoir for the fronts....or it could be the other way around... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

but it works.

You will one the jap import inline style one. It has 2 reservoirs. The PBR one (which is the square looking parallel one) won't fit, it's too wide. Both are same bore etc, you might need to reshape or get new brake lines to match. You will also need to get the brake booster from the same KE30, as the ones that came with the PBR is different. The KE30 came with 2 different styles of brake booster, the later ones are larger than the earlier ones. The whole assembly (booster + mc) will bolt on otherwise.

If you want to go a bigger bore (if you have bigger brakes etc) there are several options as well.

*edit* Looks a little like this (except 2 reservoirs):

hey demuire I thought it was illegal to use banjo fittings on a brake line??? did a shop do that for you?

But yes you are right the skyline unit is the way to go, I got one for my brake upgrade for less than $100 from SSS, theres no such thing as pedal loss anymore Smile

Ill put up a pic of the master later

IRA11Y: No idea about that. The Pajero (which is where my mc is from) uses a banjo as well, but I had to get a different one because the Pajero banjo has two outlets. Anyway got the banjo free Smile The mc doesn't have an olive on that line (hence needing a banjo or something else to seat the brake line to), only on the other line has an olive.

fook, what model pajero did that master come off (ie: if i ordered one)

your booster looks almost identical to my TA22 one - methinks that it would fit it pretty well.

how do you find the XT130 calipers too?

Grega: part number JB1762. Not sure what model it came off, I've seen it in several models though. Some random brake master cylinder information:

http://demuire.freeshell.org/cgi-bin/mods/apage/ap age.cgi?f=randomauto.html&apdir=automotive

XT130 calipers are great, they pull up the car very well and never fade. Mind you I'm running RaceBrakes RB74 pads and I only have 32hp... I'll be running the Pug/Hilux combo on my KE35 which is getting the 4AGE.
