Hey all,
I saw something the other day that confused me, a standard "92" SX celica, but it was badged "4WS GT-R". I beleive the GT-R is what the called the SX in the UK??? but 4 wheel steering? i never new Celicas had that?
Also, can anyone expalin to me what the differnce is between 165 and 164? from what i can tell, they are the same model, But 164 is aust spec? and 165 is jap or US spec??
Thanks in advance
Graham

The 164 (not in australia) was an 86-89 model celica coupe, not the hatch like the SX is here. So similar to the ST versions.
the 165 is the 4WD Turbo version of my car. The 164. Again, never seen one in Australia. We have 165s here (imported).
There is a dude here who reckons that the 164 is the Australian version of the 165, but he is wrong.

the australian gt4 is the 165.
hope this helps

The GTR is the model between the GTS and the GT4. Overseas the celicas range from worst to best GT (like our SX) then GTS (like our ZR), then GTR which we don't have here but get's imported, which has 4ws, and heaps of other stuff, then the GT4 turbo allwheeldrive then the group A, which is as close as it gets to a real rally car. Hope that helps
