do not do it. If i was to buy a new car it is one option i would leave off. Manual jobs 1, do not fail(unless the 30year old) 2, can be put up/down without ignition, 3do not cost shitloads when they do fail.

Sorry Banshee.. I would have to disagree.. But personal opion I guess.. I have electric windows in my car... I love them.. so much easier.. And mine also work with the ignition off.. and they automaatically close when you lock the doors from the outside..
You can buy electric window kits.. There about $400 from Repco or places like that.. Ozcraig has it in his Celica.. He will tell you were he got his ..

Electric windows kick arse... Factory ones are heaps better than any kit you can buy though. If electrics were an option at the time, go find those I would suggest.

I'm pretty sure jaycar stopped selling the kits about a year ago. At least in Brisbane anyway, I wanted them for mine.

electric life should do a direct bolt in for your car. Sorry to say but the jaycar ones are just toys and I can understand why they dont sell them anymore. B4 modifying my regulators on the sprinter I tried the jaycar ones and b4 I even put a load on them the head mechanism self destructed.

are these universal kits any good? ie. do they fuck up like the guy said above about the jaycar ones? i have an alarm that came from jaycar that i got for free and the remote keeps playing up but otherwise it's not too bad.
anyway i might be interested in the window kit aswell depending on price and if a bulk order to melbourne is going to be arranged.

3sgte - just the front
and yes these kits DO go over the original winders
there are two types of these eleccy window kits - good ones and SHIT ones.
you pay for what you get basically.
the electric life ones come with a lifetime warranty on the gear that goes on your OEM winder mech, so, my moneys on them.

and to quote the site :

up to you really. $320 might seem a bit up there, but, i reckon for something like windows, nothing beats electric. except if you're lucky enough to have a TA22 GT, then you've got em stock.
if you don't mind waiting happy to be a guinea pig here. always wanted to give these a go, so, wait for a while and i'll take lotsa pix and shit and maybe even do some doco?

3SGTE, I'm 90% sure that electric life do a direct bolt in kit for your car. That is a complete regulator with motor attached. Most regulators can be modified to bolt a motor onto them like I did on mine but it's a bit of muckin around compared to the universal kit. If you dont mind a box hangin off your door trim to cover the original winders the universal ones are the go.
