nah most good places have 60%, its what they put on factory cars.

mate you wont get 20, they usually stock 35, 15, 5. 15% is the sort of run of the mill "illegally" dark tint.

i know a guy in campbell town who could hook you up with whatever you want, chrome- blue- 5% (thats what i have) anything

by the way the rule on window tinting came in in 1982.

Info from RTA NSW:

"Since 1 August 1994, NSW law has required that newly tinted side and rear windows maintain a VLT of atleast 35%. When replacing window tinting which provides less than 35% VLT (ie. tint applied prior to 1 August 1994). The new window tinting must provide at least 35%VLT."

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/v si03_rev3.pdf

So i get my windows tinted and if i have trouble i will just say i got it done in 1992. Very Happy

yeah thats awesome, theres no way you can get in trouble then.

theoretically then you could do the chrome tint then as well- considering that you could have had that done before this new rule came in!

chrome wouldnt look as good as your car as some good old fashoned blackness.

i was always told 1982- (by a guy who owned sol-ace).

maybe i was drunk.

AUSTRALIAN TINT WIZARD PTY LTD
Unit 2/ 2 North Rocks Rd North Parramatta
1300 658 468

If you want dark tint, you will usually have to go down and see them as few will discuss it over the phone.

I dont like the chrome tint it looks too ricey, if i had a civic i would reconsider. I like the standard dark black tint, even when i get my next car ill get the black tint.

yeah its unfortunate when things become rice-

i put in on my girlfriends 68 dub, it look awesome cos she has a fair bit of chrome on the car as well, wheels and alike. this was before the rice boys got a hole of it and put it on every lowered car with a loud exhaust and big shiny wheels

I shopped around and the cheapest I could find locally was SOLACE for their basic 'metalised" film was $250(was $265 but there is a special this week sir!)...I was not all that keen because I have heard a few disturbing stories about the quality...their top of their range was about $425/50 if I recall correctly..I was not impressed with the two guys pottering around an empty workshop on a hot mid week afternoon while the manager sat outside smoking..
Tint Wizard charged me $350 for what I got...
Another level was $295...the difference on the little heat/light demo machine they have was enough to make me spend the extra as was their professional approach in explaining everything to me.
They did the rear window and the four doors and quarter panes...I guess if the area was less it may be cheaper but there is lot of glass in my old beastie.
I went there by recommendation from a guy from www.toyotacressida.com
I am really stretched for time at present and they also helped me out by holding the car overnight until I could pick it up ...every little bit helps..(Thanks for the lift Andy)
Cheers,
PS I also got a peek at an awesome Supra that was getting the treatment on Saturday morning...

Greg,
glad to see that you are happy with the job they did.

Tint Wizard have done everyone of the cars I have owned except for 1 (which never got tinted) - I have never had a complaint..

Whichever tint you chose, make sure it is 100% metalised tint - NOT DYE. unless of course you like the purple look after a few years Smile

Ring Tom the tinter on: 0416 135 314... He works with me at Chatswood...

$180 for 20%...
$190 for 15%...

He does do other rating tints and they are 100% metalised aswell...

I believe it's an extra $50 to remove existing tinting and more if he comes to you...
