Has anyone had any experince of repairs on front suspension mounts on 86.5 MA70 Supra?
The mounts are the ones the bolt for the adjusting Lower Control Arm bushes attach to. The angled track that the LCA bolt adjusts along is worn and apparently needs a patch welded in to stop movement. If anyone has come across this, any helpful advice would be approciated.
Are you talking about the eccentric shaped washer that allows adjustment for wheel alignments etc? If so you're better off replacing them with new ones from toyota.
If your lower control arm is worn then I'd suggest finding another one from a wreckers/importers etc, or seeing if you can get a new one from toyota. Welding of suspension parts is often frowned upon by Transport authorities.
The washer is worn and has to be replaced but far worse the track that the bolt runs in on the chassis has a worn section that means that the bolt can't be secured properly and eventually loosens off.
It's because the previous owner drove it with dead bushes.
I'm sure the transport authorities reaction will be worse when I take a tangent of a corner because the camber/toe are completely screwed!
