i was wiring up my alternator the other day, and snapped this thing. coincidently, the idle is now playing up. could this be some sort of choke/sensor?
the black/yellow wire attached joins between the alternator and the charge light.

btw, its an ae86.

From the crappy picture it looks to be a choke. This will not effect the idle at all. It just stops noise from what ever it was connected to.

hrm.. in that case, would you have any idea what could affect the idle? it was idling at 1000rpm a few days ago before i tidied up all the wiring, now it varies between 1400-2000.
