power windows into ta22

well basically the mechanical units are going to the shitter, one rear is dead, the other aint too flash, and one front is gettin worse and worse.
so i want power windows eventually anyway, and don't want to spend money on patch up jobs.
obviously finding the factory GT ones will be near impossible, so what more readily available setups have people used? preferably something as close to bolt-on as it gets, oh and also prefer not tooo expensive
thanks for any help
edit: and the other thing was a control unit for the windows, one that will easily graft into the centre console, i was thinking is the space between the little gear container and the shifter

This topic comes up fairly regularly on Celica-related mailing lists and such. The short answer is there's no easy way to do it, and there's certainly nothing that will bolt in. Later model Celica's have power windows but the mechanism is vastly different. So if you're up for the challenge, go for it - but IMO it's not worth the pain.

Yep, as Norbie said, it is a pain to make work properly. A friend over here in Perth has done it (albeit into an RA28 so no need to do the rear windows), email him directly on stepho@thorlock.com and ask him how, his name is Wayne. I have a set of power window motors available if you decide to go ahead with it?!

he has power wiondows in his immaculate ta22 but I 'm not sure if they're original gt spec or custom.

yeah i have read his site, he has original GT ta22 on the front and i think ra40 ones on the rear, i dunno whether the ra40 rears are actually any easier to find but he has a good diagram of how to adapt them.
