Anyone got pictures of T28 Turbo?? Mon, 24 November 2003 18:13 Go to next message
I want to see the Inlet side of the turbo, one from the 200sx is fine, or if you got all the different pictures of T28 that's even better, I've done search on the search engine and hundreds of ringtones pages came up, really pissed me off... Razz

The only T28 that has ceramic wheels is the ones of an RB26DETT (Skyline GTR) These have a 0.48 A/R exhaust housing. They are too small for a 2L engine, as they are effectively only supplying air for a 1.3L. And because they have the ceramic turbine wheel, the only thing they are good for is to replace a blown RB26DETT turbo.

The S14 and S15 turbos have 0.64 A/R exhaust housing, and steel turbine. The early S14 are journal bearing type, late S14 (S14A) and S15 are ball bearing. These have a T04B compressor housing.

The Pulsar GTiR T28 is the highest flowing of the series, with a 0.86 A/R exhaust housing and steel turbine. These have a T3 compressor housing.

A good hybrid is a GTiR turbo with an S14/S15 TO4B compressor housing.

turbovan: which car is the T28 in your picture from? Mine is an S14 (early, non BB) and looks identical, except for the cast writing on the compressor housing which is "1-2" at the end, not "1-1"

gt20v: If you're interested in identifying an S14 vs S14a turbo, the S14a has 6 bolts holding the exhaust housing to the core (4 bolts S14) and it also has a cast divider wall between the exhaust wheel & wastegate flap.

Cheers
Phil

In the bolt holes Very Happy Razz

They are in the front of the exhaust housing. They hold the retaining rings that clamp the housing to the core. If someone can host a picture, I can show you.
