I have almost compleated my 20v conversion the only thins is my alternator is not working, as it was working before i took it out of the last car and the battery light is not on when key turned to on, im guessing its a wire problem.
there anre 4 wires all up.
one big + going to the battrey
and 3 little going into a plug
one is used for an earth fuse another
to the dash for the power to the light,
anyone know what the 3rd wire is used for?
im not 100% sure on that set up but any info would be good
regards Craig.

here is a quick pic of what a 4age alternator plug looks like, and what each terminal does, not including the big batt+ wire.
According to my Toyota wiring diagram, the SWITCH wire splices into the BATT+ wire.
the IGNITION wire goes through a 10A fuse, and gets fed power when the ignition is switched on.
the LIGHT wire goes through a 7.5A fuse, and then to the charge light.

The "Switch" wire is like the voltage sensing wire of the regulator, so that the regulator knows the voltage of the battery and can control the alternator accordingly.
If you are wiring this into an AE71 corolla or sprinter etc where you previously had the external regulator on the passenger side strut tower in engine bay - its easy to do!
Just unplug and throw away the old external regulator, and test to see which wires are which on that six pin plug (3 of which would have gone to the old alternator, thus you use the other 3)
Hope this helps
