it is not the water pump, unless it is leaking from the pump and the overheating is from lack of coolant.

I'd be checking the operation of the water temp sensor, if your not leaking coolant and the motor gets hot while driving, this is very strange.
Wouldnt the water get hot while idling, due to lack of air flow.
When the temp rises, feel the temp of the radiator cap, if it almost burns your hand off then you have a problem, also listen for boiling water, if your temp is that high your water/coolant will be boiling.
Im thinking electrical fault somewhere.
Just my 2c worth
Hope it all works for ya

what ae86trueno said.
and pull your radiator and give it flush while you're on the job.

aiight well thanks for all the help guyz ... i have tried a few of the suggestions ... so far this is the result ...
* thermo stat replaced with brand new
* radiator cap replaced with brand new
* head gasket test showed that the first cylinder showed very very low compression of 75 psi and the other 3 showed around 160 ...
so i am guessing i have blown a the head gasket but i have checked my radiator and no bubbles of oil or air has come out ... and also the water in my radiator doesnt look like itz flowing when i started the engine ... my friend showed me his water in his radiator when he turned it on and it was moving around like a current ... mine just sits der and doesnt really get hot so i am also guessing that ither my water pump is not functioning or my radiator blocked and that the water doesnt circulate around the engine ... i am going to flush it down tomorrow and hope for the best ...
thanks again for all the help on narrowing this problem down for me ... cheers ...

thermos stat will only allow circulation when engien is warm - did you check water flow at running temps (warm engine up with radiator cap off).
