My gze didnt come with a dampner on the fuel rail and I'm getting some real hammering in my fuel lines. I've bought a bosch dampner and my question is, can I put it just before the filter? From the other side of the filter there is braided line to the rail. Thanks for any help.

My old EFI pump used to have a dampner on the OUT side. So that makes me think it can be anywhere?
But now I have one after the rail, before the malpassi regulator..
Sorry guess that doesn't help much.

i dont know why it would be removed in the first place but ohwell. i would put it after the rail on the return line as close to the rail as possible.

yes, it will work where you have suggested. Some factory cars even have them mounted with the pump, at the back of the car near the tank.

My understanding is that the hammering is cause by the pump in generating the pressure to push the fuel through the lines so immediately after the pump should be best. That's where it is on the AE92 Rollas as well.

query: if you have a significant amount of EFI hose between the pump and the fuel rail - does hammering occur (and is dampener still required?)
i would have expected the 'give' in the lines to accomodate with pulses in the fuel line?

Not speaking from experience but I would think that would be OK. The dampener piece appears to be a firm-walled tube (not soft) so EFI hose should do the same job by isolating the vibration out of the copper metal lines. Unfortunately, I haven't heard the vibration or knocking sound that people refer to in the fuel line to use as a comparison.
