How to fit a fender?

Hey all, I drive a sprinter and well, I've always had a bit of a problem with the door rubbing against the fender when you open it (drivers side door only) now I had a bit of a fiddle with it and it's worse than before, doh.
Is there any set procedure to follow when putting it on?. or could my car just be maybe out of alignment a bit?
Any suggestions on how to get this fixed? on a budget of course being a student and I'm trying to save for suspension parts, so if anyone could gimme a hand..
I'm trying to get it fixed by Monday, as I get my license back (from a six month suspension)..
One of the bolts also I think has threaded itself, the one just inside the door which I think I'll have to hacksaw off then drill out maybe, doh again.
I had a look through the toyota guide and they don't seem to mention it. Thanks, Grant.

it should bolt right up if you have the correct fender cause it took like 5 minutes to do mine...
and if your door can close properly then it out of alignment

Start from the rear of the door, making the door gap equal down the meeting face, then tighten the door bolts. Next loose fit the fender, or loosen so you can adjust it back and forth. Again make sure the gap is equal along the meeting face, and also make sure the door doesn't catch the trailing edge of the fender.
If the fender is bent along that edge, you'll have to panel beat it back into alignment, the joy of an AE86 is you can usually do this with your hands to some extent. Once it clears the door comfortably, start to tighten the mounting bolts, checking the bonnet meeting face as you go also for equal gap!
