New Toyota Camry

Today I was at UNSW and while walking through the campus, I saw a photo team packing up their gear after taking shots of a new car. This new car, I believe is the new 2002 Camry. The badges had black Gaffa tape over them (?) and the car had a sportivo kit on it. Damn I wish I had my digital camera on me at the time, but I thought the car looked fantastic. It was Silver, a V6 and was manual.
Earlier that day, I was in market City and I went to some hobby shop in some arcade nearvy and they had a remote control AE86 Trueno, 2 toned white/black with black wheels and a big ass controller. I was gonna buy it until i saw the price tag of $350, the car is quite small (similar size to a slot car) Has anyone else seen this thing?

Yeah, the new Camry is set for August/September release. Looks much better than all older models IMHO. It will look the same as the one released in the USA last year, so if you want a sneak peek, have a looksie at the Toyota USA web page.

Saw heaps of them when I was in the USA. They look just like Lexii....
I prefer the current one, the rear end of the new one just isn't as nice as the current one.

Yeah my Dad works with Rick Bates and whenever Toyota/Lexus bring out a new model, he and Rick do the 'official' national release of the vehicle. The official release of the new Camry is from the second to the eleventh of September. The good bit about this part of his job, is that we get to keep the new vehicle for a few weeks while the release is taking place. And the even BETTER part is that I get to drive them! i got to drive the new ES300 (i think it was), IS300, AND the SC430! I loved the drop down hard top, however the best part of the SC was by far the brakes. I was amazed that a vehicle as big and heavy as that could pull up so well. The ABS is really agressive, and after a hard stop from about 100km/h you can actually see a very faint grey line on the road. Anyway, yeah the new Camry is due out soon, its got a nice interior, especially with the sat nav, and the new styling is not bad, from the front it looks alot like the new ES, however i still reckon my dads '98 model Camry with 17 inch rims and the GTP bodykit without the rear 'spoiler' looks the best! (it really is a 'spoiler'...)
