Reco door hinges Mon, 01 December 2003 03:28 Go to next message
Like most of the people out there i have a 26 year old car and the hinges are that badly worn that i cant get any more adjustment out of them. Is there a way or has somebody modified a door hinge with bolts and nylon bushes so that it is like new.

you could do that, but the nylon will need to be changed every so often...

a friend of mine used bronze bushings and stainless steel pins in his KE15 hinges (which never had adjustment Sad )
boith ways will equire a bit of fairly precise machining (to make sure it all lines up) otherwise it will have just as much slop as a worn one...
Good luck!

Alternatively you could fit oversize pins.
