20V vs 16V 100kw Strength Question Wed, 03 December 2003 09:09 Go to next message
Is there any difference in the strength of these 2 engines. I was on the understanding that the 4AGZE was the only one with a different bottom end and that the other 2 are the same?

i'd tend to agree, all the 4age series have the same bottem end afaik, but the 4agze has some changes, oil squirters or something, strength wise who knows, probebly the 4agze would be better, but what point is there in using it unless you are in some sort of forced induction setup..

have a look at sherwood's site.... all will be reveiled.
20v has lighter internals: higher compression pistons, lighter rods etc.
16v 100kw has the oil squirters, as does gze and both 20v's
what application did you wana use this for? what car? how much are you planning on working it?

I thought I read in one of these forums that the AGZE had ceramic coated pistons and forged conrods.
