The R151 gearbox found in late-model Hilux 4WD's has very similar internals to the R154; apparently only the ratios are different. A friend of mine rebuilt his R154 using R151 parts, so it can definitely be done. If these people can't find Hilux parts there's something wrong!

Guys,
Got a new set of syncro's but they are incorrect, on the outside of the syncro's there are a number of wells i think three from memory..... However on the syncro that came out of my car has ex-dents..... or for a better wording, the wells are reversed and are now peaks....... was wondering if anyone with a smidgen of an idea could help me....... Norbie would be great to hear your thoughts.....

Steve has the original at the moment and has ordered all three types of Supra syncro's but we are at a loss..... Could it be that the syncro came from a R154 gen 1 gearbox????? As above any ideas please feel free to call me. 0404053154

Cheers

You've got me stumped... I'm not really an expert on rebuilding gearboxes. Sad

Gents,

The above photos show what the syncro looks like..... Note the three ridges on the syncro ring land....
Any Info would be a great help.

Cheers

Have a chat to John from ImportBitz (sales@importbitz.com), he was telling me last night he scored a couple of R154's from Japan so they should be in the country soon.
