how to tell physical differences between GE vs GZE Thu, 04 December 2003 03:48 Go to next message
hey guys i was just wondering how would u tell the physical difference, i know the cam covers, and doing a compression test, is there any other ways ? ? cause this car i am going to look at, could of done a dodgy by sticking a GE motor with a supercharger, but how would i tell the difference in physical appearances without having to take the motor apart ?

MWP: Read his post again:

[edit] never mind, you obviously already re-read, since your post is gone Smile Cool

I seriously doubt that anyone would go to that hassle, but if by some chance they have fitted an early (bluetop) 4AGE with a blower, you will notice that there is no external oil drain from the back of the head to the block on the driver's side. You should also note whether the motor is fitted with a distributor, or the GZE cam angle sensor & individual coil packs.
