just wondering if someone could give me an idea of what level of power loss you get from the flywheel to the rear wheels in a 70's model Celica. mine is meant to have 150hp at the fltwheel thats 111Kw and i'd like to work out what it would roughly be at the wheels.

The general rule of thumb is about 30% or 1/3 (33.3%) of power is lost.

So power at the wheels using 1/3 =

111/3 x 2 = 74kw
150/3 x 2 = 100hp

Power at the wheels using 30%=

111 - (111 x 0.3) = 77.7kw
150 - (150 x 0.3) = 105hp

How did you work out the flywheel power? Put the engine on a dyno by itself?

yeah few years ago the engine was rebuilt and placed on an engine dyno when it was all modified ect. be about 6 years or so ago so if it had 150hp then i doubt it would now as its had a bit of a thrashing and needs a good tune
