Toyota in F1 Sun, 28 July 2002 09:32 Go to next message
Hellos

I found this snipet in a Magazine in a while ago.

Five years, says Toyota, untill it expects to contend for the F1 title. Meanwhile, this season and next Toyota will collect data, by year three it hopes to regualary finish on the podium, and by Year 5, well, its champers and hangovers for the Big T.

Two years at the cost of how ever many tens of millions of dollars it costs, It would want to be some mighty helpfull data!

But I cant wait till Ferari is sitting on 2nd/3rd looking upto Toyota! And I hope some of the engineering washes off on some production cars!

Yeah, tis interesting to relate our roadsters to TOYOTA in F1. I was pretty to finally have someone I can passionately support in the F1. Usually I go by the temprement of the driver or the look of the car, hoping the underdogs win. Hope Toyo. can get to the stage of winning races and being competitive in the near future, evenm further keeping my head high when driving our selica babies on the streets! good point Graham.......

Yeh, i like to read lots on toyota and it seems they are very persistant people. In virtually every motorsport they enter, they seem to conquor it. If they can do it in the F1, that'll be excelent. You can bet your left leg that i'll be there at The Melbourne GranPrix with a HUGE Toyota flag.

Mclaren brought out the F1 raod car and the Ferrari produced the F50 with Alan Prosts F1 engine (slightly detuned) in a road vehicle. What i'll be intrested in is what toyota will bring out in the years to come tpo celebrate their up coming victorys.
