just driving back to work from the shops i was going strait through a four way intersection the lights where green some dickhead going the opposite way but turning right has gone (he was supposed to give way) so i locked on the brakes and cranked on the air horn i just touched his back end (mazda ute flat tray) so he pulled over i did a dodgy turn and pulled up behind him he got out apoligising cause he knew it was his fault i looked for damage but couldnt find any but a scrape on my bumper so i said "lucky its metal ay" he apoligised again and we both left i pulled up at work and found a nice ding on the passenger side quater panel and a nice chunk out of one of my mags 
the damage wouldnt be over a couple of hundred and from what ive heard if its not over $1000 you have to sue them to get any cash.
anyone got a spare mk2 panel? 
if it was the other way round id be on prime time news HOON RUNS DOWN TRADESMAN

I dunno about the sueing thing, but I know if its over $2000 total you have to report it to the cops.
As long as you got his details off him you'll be ok
I personally wouldn't hold my breathe waiting for money from him, especially if its only $250-$300. And its definately not worth going to the insurance over. Know any lawyers you'll do it for free? or at least write you up a summons notice to give to him??
Either way, take plenty of pics, video, and get a proper written quote from at least 2 separate places, just incase you decide to go to court over it.
Don't fix it without doing the above.
But yeah, it sucks balls dude.
Oh well, maybe you can do the other bog patch at the same time!!!!

simdog: yeah he did run in to me
but thats thing i got out and thought it was this little ding on my bumper but it was on the other side anyway to cut a long story short i said yeah dont worry about i didnt even get his name so it was my own stupid fault i wouldnt be fkd taking it to court
so basically im stuck with the repair bill 
but i'll leave it its just a ding but my mags got a nice chunk out of it i'll have to go see Mr Mag (a place that fixes mags uP)
but i think i'll wait until i do the paint job before i get the mag fixed other wise i'll probably crunch it on a kerb a week later

My mums liberty has well over $4000 damage to it and the cops didn't want to know anything. Just had to ring the insurance company and they take it from there. None of this 2 or 3 quote bullshit anymore. They'll do the suing to get their money and tell you where to take it to get fixed.

That blows man, you never see the damage till you get home and find out that sometings gone wrong.
Levindrifta got merged onto buy a riced up lancer on his way to work one day, no damage to his car till he went to go home and found a crack in the radiator, but the lancer nearly lost the rear guard.

Well, I know for a fact, that if you don't report it to the cops, they can fuck you over big time (ie, if the person that hit you reports it and you don't, they can say what they want, and then you don't have leg to stand on, even if they were in the right)
All you have to do is go to the copshop and fill out an accident form. Takes about 1/2 an hour, but legally worth it
But yeah, not worth it in this case, just remember his plates/car CMK2, and tell all perth ppls, and if we see him, we'll avoid at ALL costs
