does anyone know where the black with white strip wire coming out of the starter relay is ment to go, it looks like this has to be conected to something for the motor to run, if i connect it to my oil guage wire the motor will run, but the starter motor will not disenguage. any thoughts

dont know what you mean about starter relay but that wire usually comes from the start position on your ignition switch and goes to the solenoid on your starter which in turn when energised puts power from your battery to starter motor. hope this makes sense

i know what u boys are saying and your both right but i think its got to do with something else, not the starter as such but more like electric side of things, like a signal to tel the computer the car has started and to go about its buisness.

i can start the car with out this wire hooked up, but it will only run for about 3 seconds or less if i touch the gas,

but will run if i hook it up to the oil signal line, that is what makes me think it is looking for a signal from something.

regards Craig

the sta feed to ecu does fuk all except bit more fuel maybe
doesnt stop car from runnin
i garantee u have not hooked up the trigger for the fuel pu,mp relay also know as circuit openin relay
it comes from the air flow

when the airflow opens it triggers the fuel pump relay

this wire is green/red trace
it runs from the airflow to the big grey plug neaer the ecu plugs
if this is wired in then check that the fuel pump works when u open the airflow flap by hand with ignition on

what is happenin is when u crank its triggering the fuel pupmpo relay to run the pump but then when u goto ignition it relies on the airflow to keep pump relay go9in and thats y it runs for 3 secs
