bits on 1g Sun, 07 December 2003 21:39 Go to next message
Ok ive taken out the 1g in the car and got a new 1g from sss.

Now the one in the car had yellow injectors and the new one has pale green ones, both motor are air/air intercooled types.
We were thinking of just putting all the inlet from the one in the car onto the new one cos we know everything works on it and we don't want to have to take motor out again to change it.

Would there be much difference? are those green injectors bigger?

Would the sensor on the new one work with the old computer?
Both motors out of gz20

What would you do?
Ive got a boost controller so boost factors of both don't matter

There are differences between Gen 3 and the other two like turbo intake and more agressively programmed ECU.
Not sure if there are any internal differences...

the new one has yellow ecu plugs so my guess is new one is gen2

so basically there won't be a difference really if I put the old (possibly gen1 according to colours) intake sensors/wiring etc. onto new (possibly gen2) powerwise cos ill up the boost anyway and that seems to be major diff between gen1 and 2
?

As far as I'm aware, there were turbo differences and injector differences between the different gens.
Give it a go and see. Smile

bearings are fucked

think im gonna stick with the old stuff, cos the new one is auto loom and doesn't seem to fit ecu

so that decides that Smile

Gidday

To determine the differences between the motors have a search of this forum. There are lots of differences between the gen 2 and gen 3. I am currently running a gen 3 motor in mine with all gen 2 accessories and all works ok. Try and end up with gen 3 turbos and the compressor is bigger and they run more boost standard.
