100kw 4AGE with TVIS manifold, possible?	Mon, 08 December 2003 05:50

I know that that you get good result with 100kw block and bigport head and TVIS intake. My car is 89 MR2, so was wondering if i retain the TVIS manifold and use a complete 100kw 4AGE with smallport head. I get a custom-made adapter to fit TVIS manifold to small port head. That way it will still look stock. May use bigport ECU or aftermarket. I don't think there will be any increased performance by doing that, but I'm hoping not to lose any. Yes, with a lot fo work you could do it, but why? The Japanese big port TVIS engines are 97kW so not that far behind the 100kW small port, so why bother? Anyway, a good small port head will beat a TVIS just about every time. [Report message to a moderator]

Because 87-89 model MR2 came with the 7 rib block and internal like the 100Kw but with the TVIS bigport head and 9.4:1 CR I was thinking of increasing the CR to 10.5:1 and put on smallport head. Question is which manifold to use? 1. TVIS maninfold with TVIS active 2. TVIS manifold w/o TVIS active 3. any other option? [Updated on: Mon, 08 December 2003 08:10] [Report message to a moderator]

the manifolds interchange. the stud spacing is the same. personally i suggest you refit the bigport head, but the smallport head will work T [Report message to a moderator]

I wanted to use the small port head as it suppose to flow with higher velocity. question is should i use back the bigport manifold with TVIS activated or not? [Report message to a moderator]
