Toymods Dyno Day 8
Proudly Supported by and held at:
Premier Auto Centre.
20 Sunblest Cres. Mt Druitt NSW 2770

Cost:
Members $40 - 2WD, $50 - 4WD.
Non-Members $45 - 2WD, $60 - 4WD.

Thats right the 8th Bi Annual Toymods Dyno Day is now firmly in place and scheduled for Sunday January 18th 2004. (8.30am Start !)

Once again its time to sort the walk from the talk as Toymodders and friends turn the rollers and strut their stuff. Recent Dyno days have seen over 60 cars compete on the day and a great Social atmosphere with more spectators than competitors talking Toyota and seeing whats on offer.

The day is open to members and non members alike, all vehicles both Toyota and inferior, I mean otherwise are more than welcome.

Each vehicle will receive one Run on the 4WD Dyno at Premier Auto Centre.

WE ARE STILL LOKKING FOR A SPONSOR FOR THIS EVENT ! Please contact Rod Try on 0416 181 284 if your are interested in being the Sponsor for Dyno Day 8 !

FOOD !
The Day will start with Bacon and Egg rolls for Breakfast at $2.50 for members and $3.00 for non-members

For Lunch members will be able to buy a Sausage Sandwich for $2 and a cold can of drink for $1. Non members will be able to buy a Sausage Sandwich for $2.50 and a cold can of drink for $1.

TROPHIES.

We will be offering 8 Class categories on the day with the overall Killerwatt King perpetual trophy going to the highest overall score of the day.

Vehicles will be eligible to compete in only one PRIMARY class. The vehicle owner may choose to compete in a higher class but must do so before their Dyno Run.

The 4 Primary classes are:

Under 1800cc N/A Class
Under 1800cc Forced Induction Class
Over 1800cc N/A Class
Over 1800cc Forced Induction Class.

The 4 Secondary Class Trophies are:

Top Single Cam
Top 4WD
Top Supercharged

And finally Most improved.*

* The Most improved Trophy is for the member with the Highest percentage kw increase on his/her car from the prvious Dyno day. It must be the same Vehicle and must be back to back Dyno days where the entrant was a Financial member for BOTH events.

Class Trophies will be Presented at the end of the day as will the Trophy for the Killerwatt King proudly sponsored by Redline Motorsport.

TROPHY ELIGIBILITY.

# Only FINANCIAL Toymods members are eligible for trophies
# Only TOYOTA powered vehicles are eligible for trophies. At a bare minimum both the block and head must be of Toyota origin.
# Toymods Membership if due or new on the day must be paid BEFORE your dyno run
# Only your first Dyno Run counts towards the trophies. Should you wish to have a second run on the dyno you are more than welcome to do so. All are welcome to pay for a second run if time allows However Only the first run will be elegible for consideration. Time permitting Second Runs will be available at the end of the day.

The Offical Judging team on the day will accept comment from each vehicle owner BEFORE the car is unstrapped from the Dyno. The Judges Decision regarding any possible re-run is Final.

# The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. No arguments will be tolerated with the Dyno Operators and any inappropriate behaviour will result in the offending competeitor being asked to leave.

CLASS SELECTION.

The class eligibility for your vehicle is based on the presence of forced induction be it Turbo or Supercharger and the capacity of your engine. Since there is no way to determine an engine's internal modification capacity is based on the Original Factory capacity of the block used.

There are no boost limits for the forced induction classes, the toymods car club does not handicap those people who have constructed an engine capable of supporting higher boost levels. Summernats no longer imposes a boost restriction so we see no reason too.

Should you have any further questions please feel free to contact the toymods board on board@toymods.org.au

The Toymods Car Club Encourages Responsible driving to and from all of its events.

Ooooh, damnit! I REALLY hope I can make it THIS time - but luck's not been on my side so far, heck even my brake rotors have been 8 weeks and counting. I'm gonna stay up all night working on the car if I can get my bits in time just to make it Evil or Very Mad

Let's see......

Jan 18th is 5 weeks away. Earning $500 take home a week. Which comes out to be $2500. Unavoidable expenses during that time will equal about $1000. Rego will be roughly $1000. So that comes out to $500 spare. Factor in Chrissie presents etc and that = no zorst. Sad

I'll be there again - in the slightly multi-coloured supra.

she's making steady progress - and just waiting on a couple of parts before I can hopefully give her a run

maybe have the fmic in by then, but I doubt it.

I'm planning for my engine conversion to be finished for dyno day. I have to cause after the the last dyno day 33kw run, I'm hoping for a 300% increase so I can nail that most improved.

I'll no longer be competiting in the Single cam class sorry ROD i'll leave you for that.

I'll try and talk a couple of cars into coming such as some firey 4M's and possible a super straight RT40 20V

Should be a great day come on come all

You can both re new and join Toymods member ship on the day.

Look forward to seeing every one again and get there early to get out early.

P.S. If any one needs me to I don't mind cooking on the day I don't think I killed anyone last year.

If you did kill them would you hear them complain?

Will try to get Damiens MS55 along for Rod's pleasure. Should be more than 33kw don't you think?

I don't think I'll be there for this one. I got just over a month in which to get the 3S-GTE into the RAV4. And it's a bitch of a month too. Any other month I reckon I could do it. I got the front-cut, all the parts I need, now I just need to get the head done, rebuild it and fit it, and the exhaust too. Will be tight, but I don't think I can pull it off. Confused

if I can find a water pump pulley for under $180 before then I'll be there Smile

I probably wont run on the rollers unless my fmic is installed and car re-tuned - as it would put out the same as last time, minus a few kw for heat.

Sweeet... I'll bring PMP-80Y along to see what she can do...

Hopefully my GT-Four will be in getting worked out for ToyNats at this time so I won't be able to bring it along...

Probably should try to bring it along if its not being worked on because with its busted arse clutch it'll definately win most improved next year Smile

hmmm lets see my bets are:
20v 4a-ge
4a-gte
pete's UZA70
the J mans' 1uz-fte/or a *jz-gte dyno queen that spools at 5000rpm

5m-e (unless someone turns up with a 5m-te)
gt4
supercharged soarer or 1g-gze celica

anyones guess

I wouldn't be too surprised if the under 1800 classes had some solid competition from 2T/3T setups.

There are also some fairly decent 7M-GTE's around that may have a say in the over 1800 forced class.

i'll be there this time....to put the Echo through its paces..... oh yeah going to need a new trophy as well....on for best VVTI engine hehehehe.........anyway im hoping to put out a little ova 60kw at the wheels....the 2NZ-FE is 65kw at the fly wheel.......so when you do the sums of loss from fly wheel to tread and the little power gained from the mods done it will be a good effort for the new gal.

Ben,
You could prolly make a dent if you just bring that photo Laughing

Me, well I haven't decided on which mods are required to the Corolla. I'm thinking of going a bit wild and adding some chequer-plate seat covers, a bonnet scoop, a monster tach (with shift light), a NOS sticker, a GReddy sticker and some personalised plates.
I figure that these mods will net me a good fistful of power right across the rev-range. Plus- lately I have been speaking to some turbo suppliers and I reckon that my car is making more power from these phone calls - it feels tougher everytime that I talk it up.

I would like to know if i will lose a lot of power on the dyno going with my 17's rather than the standard 14", when the stock 3sfe makes 88kw or 115hp?.

oh and Jason just to give you some competiton im gona put those 4 Eibach stickers on the car to get that extra grunt.

question for the referees.... in the most improved category... if i make the largest improvement on the day between two consecutive runs does that count? or does it have to be over two events?

Can they get low cars onto the dyno? My car is currently about 6cm off the ground, but getting new shocks and springs hopefully before then. Hopefully new gearbox too. Just first gear is used for the dyno run, yeah?

And no ozzie they use forth gear as this is a 1/1 gear ratio, but I think you might have a bit of truble getting it on the rollers being that low

OK. Will having farked second (possible third too in the meantime) gears wreck the dyno run? It can accelerate hard through all gears, but loses momentum because the change(s) take so long.

I got someone to fit up the 3S-GTE into the RAV4, but it's going to be cutting it so close to the Dyno Day, I'm not sure if it will be completed in time. I might have to put the rental car on the dyno instead... Confused

If it's cutting it close, then it really isn't that likely that it'll be done in time i don't reckon.. Hopefully it goes well for you, but i've heard too many stories of workshops taking longer than expected. Sad

I guess it all depends on what needs to be done with the rebuild and if the exhaust can be made up in time for it as well. The rest should go together farily easily.

Sheesh man you don't muck around with the engine conversion!
I'm still trying to figure out how to get your brakes on my car. Spose 2 week hol doesn't help.

What other single cam engines are there?
Just wondering what competition I'll have, seeing as I would've got this one last time Evil or Very Mad

True - I got a bit of help from one of the members on here as to who to go to for this type of job, and he seems fairly up to it too.

I wont be hitting the rollers this time - so Dave ! if your out there your hopefully gunna get top St185 for the day !

The date falls in the middle of my planned intercooler swap - so the car will be off the road .. Plus it most likely will be getting the new ECU in it as well - so it will be running strong for the toyota nats!

got a Shitload of building and preparing to do before then - and im sure ill be well over 120KW at the wheels by then !! Maybe even 130 - 140kw if im mega lucky !

February will tell ! Dyno tuning here i come !
