problem with my MR2 SW20 Thu, 11 December 2003 07:58 Go to next message
ok here we go.........

i got in the car this morning and it was running great......10 mins ago i get in the car from work to go to the bank & start ok but as soon as i got to the lights, its started idling very rough & almost stalled.

i turned the car off and started it up again & i had the same problem. when i excelerate, the turbo sounds like its much louder & it doesnt seem to be going anywhere!!!

im still at work and im about to leave but i was just woundering if you can tell me what to look for first......b4 i spend $$$ on taking it somewhere.

by the way.....the BOV is still on fine so its not that.

Thanks

Mile

hey nath make sure all the vacum hoses are connected look at the ones from the inlet manifold they may do what ur describing and make sure that all the hose fittings are tight so there is no boost leak!

sounds like a split hose to me. Check your intercooler hoses, joins at the throttle body and turbo outlet.

Then check the inlet tract after the AFM.

If its so major that you are hardly boosting, then its probably going to be a larger hose rather than a smaller one.
