Highest have pushed a 4ac Sprinter (rev & top-speed wise)

What is the highest you have pushed a 4ac Sprinter, in revs & top-speed?
What is the true safe redline you can rev a stock aus-spec too without damaging the engine noticably (of course pushing all engines will shorten lifespan).

185km/h
can't remember wat revs were. I could have gone further.
i have revved it to 7.5k by accident once no noticable damage. the 4ac always ran pretty strong actually. never had any problems with it

I know a guy who reved his ae82 hatch to 9000rpm and its still running. I don't think youd want to be doing it too often or even at all since there is a notable lack of power at such a high rpm.

how did you guys get your cars to go so fast?
fastest i have been in mine was 165, and it was really tapering off, took ages to go from 160 to 165.
highest revs, 7000 RPM
7000 RPM in second gear = 100KPH, that was pretty funny.
i will make it do 8000 the day before i put the 4age in

yeh did nigh on 180, i think it was just unnder, 175ish, on the way back frm jamboree in qld a few months back. was trying to catch up with a Proton Satria we were with.
revs wise ive taken my 4ac out to in between 6500 and 7000rpm, started to make a bit of a rattle, so i backed off, but 4500/5000rpm is the area where i usually decide to shift gears lol.
will be a totally different story once the new motor goes in, will go much, much harder both revs and speed, and power wise.
later all!!

shinybluesteel be aware that some people tend to talk too much shit.
im with you - 165k is about all the old 4ac can do.
when I put the 4ag in mine it did 195-200k - at which point the fan belt flew off!!!
theres a limit to how much air a 57kw 4ac can push through.

okkies the gearing allows approx 210-220 in 4th gear
5th ive no idea as i havent stretched the legs of my 4age that far and it was still slowly pulling in my old 4ac in my old ae86at the 210-220 mark in 5th
oh and if u dont believe me/this ill call up some witnesses
dont like my word being questioned yet do understand you beign doubtful...

Gearing allows for 204KM/H with a stock T-50, in 4th, 1:4.1 diff ratio, 7500 RPM. IE, I don't think 4DaDrift was talking about a 4A-C.

I pushed mine to 180kmh, took an age to get anywhere after 165.
As far as revs are concerned I find that reving past 5g is pointless and the torque band is between round 3000-5000.

Yea
Well since I made the post I have been more game... think 6000 and 160ish.
Must say though for a "shitty" bottom of the line "A" engine.... pretty impressive.
