Where is my BOV Kristan???
|

I ordered and PAID FOR a BOV from Kristan. My current one is leaking, so it really isnt doing the car a whole world of good. I asked him how long it would be, and he told me it would be ONE week, perhaps less. As of today it's FOUR weeks!!! Friggen heck. I am less than pleased. No response to emails etc.
Kristen if you read this, the least you could do is respond to my emails and explain that delivery has been delayed or whatever the problem is. As it stands at the moment, I just think you are ignoring me. After all you do have my money, and I dont have my part.

I had a couple of problems with getting my turbo timer. But it wasn't his fault, it just took about 2 weeks to get posted to my place.

Yeah I thought that that might be the problem, but the fact that he hasnt responded to any emails is annoying. I think I'll leave it for one more week and then get a refund.

I mailed a long poster tube with some car parts in it to Tassie and it got there in about 3-4 days from Sydney.
That looks like a pretty good parcel delivery service to me!

i sent 4 parcels on tuesday, to victoria, northern NSW and brisbane... all arrived within 2-3 days. then again, they lost one parcel about 3 weeks ago coming to me from victoria..
i have been sending maybe 5-10 parcels a week and have had few probs...
it really does help to send it by registered post tho.. $2.35 but a lot more secure, as it is tracked, and has $100 insurance included...
normal post goes 'missing' occasionally...
also it helps to have the person PRINT your address so there is absolutely no confusion.
Cya, Stewart
oh, and 4 weeks without responding to email is a bit slack.. then agin, maybe he has a reason...
i think that he should have a contact phone number... only being able to contact someone thru a PObox or email is always asking for trouble

Guys,
Australia Post is having problems they even announced on the news this morning that if you are posting anything for Xmas it must be sent Xpress Post to have any chance of arriving before Xmas !!
I have bought several items from Kristian, Yes one did take a while but I got it and it was at a huge saving to anything local.
Please keep in mind these Items come direct from Japan and there may be delays from customs especially this time of year.
You want these items at a good price and he provides that, If you want them in a major hurry maybe you should consider paying full price at Autojoy. Sounds Harsh but please keep things in perspective.
That said, I would expect Kristian to be in contact with you if there unexpected delays. I was kept informed the entire time.

some sort of rating system based on what people sell how how you rate the performance maybe...
like how long it takes to get to you and what they tell you, and also what the product you recieve possibly
i got my parcel but it wasnt what i expected, not by a long shot

dont get me started on customs
they had a package (that i got a week ago or so) that they had been holding for a MONTH!!!!!!!! and there was an invoice on the outside, no duty payable etc etc.. and they didn't even send me a notice. i had to chase it down..
luckily it was a GLOBAL EMS (ie less than a week delivery.. uh huh) so it had tracking number....
then again, there must be so much shit going thru customs atm..,
just a suggestion, why not post a question to Kristian on the threads where he is selling stuff (but nicely tho, just to remind him since he's prolly not seen this thread)
something like " can you get in touch with me" might be good

I have also got something from SupraMan and yes it did take a while for me to get, but the amount I saved on it was worth it. As toyman said if you want something in a hurry get it from somewhere else but you will pay for it.
Some of the email replys also took a little while which has been said can be a bit frustrating, but he did get around to everything eventually.
All I can say is I was very happy with the end product and I did not need it in a hurry so it didn't really matter.

I have also personally bought many things from Clint (CLG).
Ive bought all kinds of stuff from him - the likes of a grinder, and numerous car parts. Everything has been sent promptly, and comes to me in-tact the way he advertises it. He also sends me emails if some sort of conflict happens.
Personally i cant see Clint telling you to watch your mouth, dont go bad mouthing someone on here you obviously know nothing about. he has a shining reputation for service and the likes, so dont go trying to spoil it for the sake of him not having time or whatever to reply to your email.

Toymodders, and Astroboy007/Wayne,
I feel inclined to publicly vent my frustation with you and your disparaging remarks towards your purchase from me. To those that have read or don't know, Wayne bought an RA60 Bodykit from me recently.
The body kit was part of a car I have been wrecking for parts and was and still is advertised in the Parts For Sale Section here on Toymods ("Wrecking: RA60 Hatchback"). I had several replies for the bodykit, and as a result posted photos which show the body kit while still attached to the car, which can still be accessed to this day. As the replies and interest for the bodykit ranged from both local, interstate and overseas inquiries, and considering the close range of reply times, I thought it best and fair to sell this item as a silent auction. While I feel Wayne misunderstood the meaning of a silent auction, I also feel I made my intentions clear in both public and private emails, thread posts and PM's, not only to him, but everyone else interested in the bodykit sale. Within those emails and PM's, I made mention of the fact the bodykit was made from chop mat fibreglass, had been painted black, and would need work to reinstall it back onto a car.
I gave a guide as to what I felt the body kit was worth, the side skirts for $200, and rear diffuser for $150. Following contact from Wayne where he offered his thoughts on the bodykit's value, and also asking around for prices, I corrected my figures to $100 for the side skirts and $50 for the diffuser, and asked the interested parties to bid around those prices, if it suited them. This infomation was sent by email which allowed better resolution photos and also included another 8 photos of the bodykit showing better detail, this time washed and cleaned. Wayne responded with an offer of $150 plus postage for the kit, and this was the only offer I recieved in the time I offered the bodykit for sale. I subsequently recieved a higher offer after I had agreed to sell the body kit to him, but held to my agreement to honour his initial offer.
I forwarded Wayne my bank account details for him to deposit the money both for payment and postage, and recieved a reply shortly after this stating he had deposited the money, and that he trusted I would now send the body kit, this was approximately Monday(1/12) or Tuesday (2/12). While the wording was coarse in nature, I understood his concern about buying items from interstate, and dismissed his demeanour as simply anxious - I have since found out both publically and privately this is not the case. The bodykit was actually removed on Wednesday night (3/12) before any payment was received, as Wayne was anxious to have it posted. The fender sections and side skirts came off cleanly, and were photograhed for representation. The rear diffuser was also removed by both paring away the side sections that were fibreglassed onto the rear quarter panels and also by removing the screws holding it to the rear bumper. the diffuser was then seperated into it's three seperate cast componets by removing the filler covering pop rivets, drilling the pop rivets out and laying the diffuser returns flat for packing. This item now in three sections was also photographed for identification, due to Wayne's demanding nature - I wanted a record of what I would send him. The bodykit was boxed in a cardboard box I made especially for it's postage and was fully sealed. the kit was packed firmly, but not so tight as to cause breakage during post, it's dimension were approximately 1600mm x 500mm x 300mm, and weighed 12Kgs approximately. I checked my account to find no such deposit made, and notified him so. He subsequently told me he had left two digits off my account number, and while his bank had deducted the money from his account, it had not reached mine for obvious reasons when last I checked on Friday night(5/12/03). The money was in my account when I checked again Saturday 6/12/03, however I now had to wait till Monday morning (8/12)to post the bodykit off, to which it was done so.
I recieved a PM from Wayne on Thursday 11/12/03, informing me the body kit hadn't yet arrived, to which I replied. I believe he recieved it Monday 15/12, but received no confirmation from him on this, or subsequent infomation from him directly.
The next contact I had with Wayne was publically in the forums, which for several times has susequently been altered by the moderators for it's "personal attack" against me. I sent him a PM, asking if he had a problem, as I was in the dark as to why he had posted the comments. He informed my that the body kit had arrived broken, and was not what he asked for. He stated he wouldn't have offered as much for it if he had known the kit was not a bolt on style kit, but actually the fibreglassed fixing unit he received, and accused me of misrepresenting the bodykit. I replied stating that the kit was packed adequately to not break, the kit was clearly visable as a fibrglassed unit in all photos presented, and I had taken the greatest care I could in it's removal. His reply to my response again was not favourable, and at this time I made the comment that I would take action on his statements made against me, as I felt they were unfair, and unjust according to laws of slander, forum rules and common decency. I have since reported several of Wayne's posts, which have all been altered by moderators as mentioned above.
I have been a member of the Toymods forum for a little over twelve months now, and will happily admit to buying and selling many items on the classified sections, I find it one of the best area on the web to do so. In that time and involving hundreds of transactions, I have only ever had 1 problem with some thing I have bought, and 1 problem with something I have sold (I received a PM last night about a set of extractors I recently sold, that have found to have a warped flange - I've happily responded to the posters PM, and will happily work with him to resolve the situation). I value my reputation here and respect others who do the same for themselves. I will happily admit and agree to making biting comments to posts I feel are erroneous or vague, or post that generally miss the mark of their intended recipients, however no more than others also present here. I am happy to rest on my reputation, and the fact I have previously, and will continue to do so in the future, offer to have goods returned from people who have purchased items, only to have their situation change, or find the part is not suitable. Having said this, the offer to have Wayne return the bodykit, is very much rescinded after his actions over the last week or so - a statement I have made previously to him. I do feel Wayne has over reacted to the whole situation, I feel he has wanted a bodykit ready to install for $150, however will also make mention of the fact that a friend recendly paid nearly $400 just to have a front spoiler supplied and fitted to a Celica.
A quck word of thanks who've supported me after I've asked yet more questions while this all goes on, those who've posted support, and those I've spoken to regarding this matter.
So, appologies: Wayne, if you feel I have personally attacked you in this post - I apologise. The Toymods board, if either of you feel I have broken any of the rules regarding forums posts, I apologise and please feel free to make any neccesary changes as you all see fit. Caledwvech, I apologise for the long winded thread hijack, however I'm growing tired of the "astroboy onslaught", and to all the Toymodders who've had to put up with my post in defending myself publically, rather than using the appropriate avenue, I apologise.

if you want to address Clint's argument, instead of making a sarcastic comment, take it point by point
1. you offered $150 + postage having seen the photos
2. you didn't take up the problem with him, but started spraying slander all over the forums (which never looks good)
3. You paid $150 for side skirts & rear diffuser... for that sort of price, you dont expect excellent quality (I wouldn't expect even good quality)
if you have pics of the condition the bodykit was in when it got to you, and the poacking, we can compare that with Clint's pictures of the kit after removal... but otherwise it's just a word war, and as you mentioned clint seems to have you beat there.

A picture says a thousand words. Post pictures of the condition of the kit, and what you think is wrong with it.
That way you can show us what you think is wrong with it, rather than just having a flaming match.

just a suggestion 2 possibly resolve this issue even thou u both have your personal beliefs (im not going to debate either side)
what is it you both desire ?
is it possible 4 u both to meet in a middle ground and any profit of this be donated to these forums and the club in general hence there be no profit for either party ?
my personal sugestion is that the bodykit and funds received be both mutually donated to toymods 4 a toymods auction with the contribution being recognised thru the receipt of stickers/membership etc (up to the board to decide of course)

i doubt anyone would want this bodykit now...
i know i paid a cheap price for it, but when you pay for a product which somebodys sells in 'X' condition that is the condition you expect to recieve it in
if toymods wants to auction it off they are welcome to it, i dont need any stickers though as i make them at work

Astroboy007 wrote on Sun, 21 December 2003 05:26 | first of all there was no mention of chop mat fibreglass
no mention of it being in one piece with the rest of the car, and no mention of you being a butcher when taking it apart
i offered you $150 and you insisted PLUS $50 for postage....well postage only cost $30 why did you charge me $50
why did the box come wrapped in three tiny pieces of tape WTIH NO PACKING FOR THE BODYKIT ?
you have all the big words to defend yourself clint, but to everyone else ask yourself this question...why would i attack somebody for no reason if i had been delivered the product which i had paid for ?
this will be my last post on the subject as i have tried numerous times to contact you both privately and publicly and they have all resulted in you looking like a champion and me looking stupid, with a broken bodykit in my hand with toymod moderators wanting to ban me, i dont need this forum and i certainly dont need people sending me false information and/or goods....looks like your a winner and im the loser down $200 for no reason, well done give yourself a pat on the back, you really do deserve it
|
I made mention of it's construction to all interested parties via email, I suggest you check your messege history and propose this is why you can find no reference to this statment on the forums?
I will admit I didn't say the bodykit was blended into the car - THE PHOTOS CLEARLY SHOW THIS!!! I still have all my fingers, so cannot claim to practice butchery either?!
All items I have ever sold have always been plus postage, why should I have to pay for something to be freighted another person will wind up with? I've always payed the postage or freight on every item I've bought from Toymods, why should the transaction between us be any different? The amount of $50 postage was a result of a verbal quote when I asked my local Post Master, he stated that while the item only weighed 12Kgs, the size of the package would see the package classified as a heavier weight for scheduling reasons calculated by the Aus Post computer when weight and measurement was combined. The resultant cost of postage was as I replied to you earlier in the month by PM - the package was posted by my Mother through her employment for which they receive a discount for bulk postage. as also mentioned in that same PM, the idea that I "pocketed" the remaining $20 was offset by that I had to move two ute loads of financial records for her, in exchange for postage, for which you stated you were happy with (I can forward your PM if you wish?), yet now you change you thinking on this too?
If the package reached you with only "three tiny pieces of tape" on it, I'd suggest the post fairies were hungry during it's transport, the package was adequately taped with brown packing tape I had to buy specially for the job. I've also had a few comments on the way I pack items in that they require cutting knives to get throught the amount of tape I put on them. The bodkit was packed flat, so required no packaging other than the packaging I made for it I feel.
If you feel my literacy belittles you, take solace in the fact I've just consulted my Thesaurus for the word "belittle", and the cover for the correct spelling of "Thesaurus" - I've had the same education opportunities as you. As for your continual attack on me, attack from positions of weakness are common, if somewhat fraught with danger. Last I checked the bodykit I sent you was the same one in the photos - I'll be damned if I can find another one lying around here, so I do believe you got what you payed for, as eluded to by others in this thread? You've made mention, you have photos of broken bodykit pieces - I'd very much like to see them, not only to compare against the photos I took before posting it too you, but also to understand what you feel you didn't receive?
I'd also propose your current situation with the moderators of the forum, is your own doing, and will happily let you know, I now read all you posts regardless. Perhaps you've hit upon something with your winner/loser analysis, as others have too? You state this will be your last post on this subject, as I hope this will be mine. I'll happily agree to ignore you, and you ignore me, should this be true, how ever your subsequent posts in this thread confuse me as to you "last post"? Shall we start now?

Guys, I DID NOT create this thread as an opportunity to go around slandering people. Now that I see what has happened, I am sorry I did create this thread. It is clear that there was a mix up, so just make up.
I have nothing against Kristan. I am sure it is not his fault, and probably customs or something like that. Rod, people are using the Aust Post excuse, but that is not the case here. If I had ordered it within the last week, fair enough, but not 5 weeks ago. Customs is more likely.
That said, like I said before the thing that annoys me is that while I was discussing the purchase and getting bank account details off him, I was getting replies from Kristan ALWAYS within the day. I NEVER had to wait longer than that. Since then, I havent had a response to numerous emails in 5 weeks. Not good business practice really.
But I am willing to wait, because you are right, it is a big saving of money, I just wish I wasnt in the dark.

Out of the 12 you sent, I have replied to 9 of them.
Caledwvech---> Clint (CLG) just had the decency to PM me and let me know this thread had been created, no one else thought to tell me did they. This has been going for 10 days now, and thank goodness CLG let me know about it.
Caledwvech, sorry for the delay, the BOV is on its way. I think one of my suppliers sent it sea mail instead of air mail, which means it takes 4-6 weeks instead of only 1.
I should have replied to your emails sooner, but I was still in the dark as to if my supplier had actually sent them Air mail or Sea Mail.
It seems that you are not happy about this (rightly so) so I am offering you a full 100% refund. I do however expect the BOV to be here in the next 5-7 days.

Like I said mate, I have absolutely nothing against you. And I figured that it was something like that, I just didnt KNOW. And that is why I was a little upset.
Also, forgive me for not PMing you. It actually never even occured to me. Whoops. Wont do it again.
I am happy to wait, I was just getting a little anxious because my current one is leaking, and that is not helping the car.
Thanks mate, and sorry once again.

Mate, thanks for the offer, but I should be ok. I have been driving carefully, and can do that for another week or two. Besides as of the 4th Jan my car will be off the road for about a month as I save up enough money to get rego. Boo hoo.
So thanks for the offer, but it should be ok.

now thats a proposition
in my experience clint is an OUTSTANDING seller of goods
i was amazed in his co-operation and honesty throughout my transaction with him
i had 2 rear interior panels posted to me in a large (1.5m x0.6 meter) box!. for only 50 bucks! not bad considering the sheer size of the package!
my point is, CLG (or Clint) is a awesome guy and i will be asking him for spares in the future
btw Clint got an ae86 4age fuel pump lying around?

I purchased an ignitor from CLG and turned up in record time I think, sent from Perth on a Thursday and got to my office on Monday?
Was very good to deal with. Even after I stuffed him around once before saying i'd purchase a steering rack and then pulled out due to certain reasons. Some people would freak out about that (won't mention a name here).
Cheers
Joel

It was actually posted on a Friday Joel, and spun me out too when you siad it had arrived Monday morning! Having said that, I have noticed smaller items progress through the post alot quicker than items that obviously can't be thrown into sorting bins/need handling, but all in all I've never had a complaint about Australia Post!
Garth, I don't have an original 4AGE fuel pump, but do have a couple that would be over rated for your application, I'll PM you with the details.

in support of Clint:
I found his actions, when selling the body kit in question, to be wholly meritorious. the regular email updates, the numerous photographs, and a quick and hearty response to any emails i threw at him. i couldnt have asked for anything more...
and fwiw - any idiot looking at the photos of the skirts could tell they were blended into the panels, and 80% of the final reason i didnt buy them was because i knew they wouldnt be coming off without sustaining some damage. thats what you get when buying second hand parts aint it!
honestly, for the price the parts sold for, whoever bought them got a STEAL, and they should have a big grin on their face whilst doing the glass work getting them up to 'as new' spec....
