new motor is a 2T old motor was a 1980ish 3T from a T-18.

i had to use my own fuel pump, (wasn't supplied, should be able to get the orignal one i hope) when you go for a drive you get through first second third forth then she runs out of fuel, and you have to pull over (sometime it will do it in 3rd). when it does this if you push the clutch in whilst moving the egine will stall. is this a pump problem? and you can't get to 100km/h because of this but you can cruise around at 60 ok. and i keep blowing the heater core fuse ??? which cuts out the dash? has never done that before, any idea's guys?

have tried blocking off the return line which it seemed to get me to forth gear instead of third before i'm empty (but may have been lucky)

also what is the triangular shaped canister thing which bolts onto the block beside the oil filer, it has a gasket. and has a outlet hose? it is blocked off at the moment, should it go somewhere? (old motor (3T) didn't have one)

Ta

Alex

Ps. i've lost my engine book hence all the question's Confused

hey, had a similar problem with my 3T fuel pump, at first it was intermittent, supply starving at higher rpm, felt like it could not keep fuel up to the weber, ultimately it then gave out completely. i would invest in a electric fuel pump.

hohoho the intake and return line were around the wrong way Laughing (after buying a elec fuel pump, d'oh) , but still wouldn't idle, found after rebuilding the carb it has a solinoid on it which my old engine did not, aparently when you don't hook this up the fuel is shutoff for the idle port Very Happy goes sweet as now, except for a metallic rattle @ 3rd or 4th piston, checked clearences (tappets) all good, any ideas? noise coming from the head area,
