3SGTE into a Camry
Tue, 16 December 2003 07:31
I'm thinking about ditching the Pulsar and am looking for a new project to take me into the summer. After looking around on the net and other places I've found that the 3SGTE is both affordable and packs a bit of a punch. Then i thought about putting it into a 87-93? model Camry, just to be a little different. As the Camry already comes with a 2L already you'd think it wouldn't be too hard a conversion but I'm just wanting to know if people have heard of anybody doing this previously and what sort of results they achieved? Cost, although is not a huge factor, I would be interested in finding out peoples rough estimates.
Thanks
the Gen 2 camrys went up till 92. a 3s-gte will bolt straight in to the 3s-fe engine mounts (same block). doctakay on these boards has recently done this conversion with the late model st205 3s-gte. he would be able to give you all the info you need. alternitively, you could turbo the 3s-fe like i'm in the process of doing (though when you look at it from the big picture, it's not worth it).
