No you cant. It has to exit on the drivers side.

Try actually calling Qld Transport, there's bugger-all info on the website.

Your exhaust tip must be behind any door/window which opens into the cabin... on an RA65 that means it has to be right at the back of the car.

And the answer is no! It has to be on the drivers side if you want it to actually exit the side of the car.

In Perth (I presume that this would be the same for all of Australia), its basically what Shane/Astroboy said, behind the rear wheel, of a Passenger car (not behind the passenger rear wheel)

I've always thought it was what Norbie said, and behind the last open part of the car, but that was not written in the specs I have (sent to me by Department of Transport abot 2 months ago)

shane you changed that post Smile

i dont care if its on the driver or passenger side really, but the motor is crossflow and thats the side of the car that it comes out on, so it would be easier on the passenger side

my problem is, the ra65 is lowered 4 inches and i bottom out the tip of the exhaust all the time....the last time i owned a ra65 i made the exhaust dump at the diff, so you couldnt see it at all, i dont mind doing that again, but out the side would be kool, especially with some type of mild side skirt

You asked about the rules! I am telling you that if you want it to exit the side of the car, It has to be the drivers side! No ifs, buts or maybes.
