TA22 Rust Repair (Bottom sills ) Tue, 16 December 2003 14:08 Go to next message
Got the same old prob with the celica's, the rust in the bottom sills (the lowest part of the car) Just wonding how structual this is?

I've chopped the rust out completly, and started welding in panels to replace them, but it's taking ages, and i need this car done quick.. is fibre glass any good? How structual is this area? or do those other chassis rails take most of the load?
Maybe 1/3 of the area of the sill is chopped out(scattered area's) Could i just get a piece of angle iron, and bolt it onto the inside of the chassis rail every 10 cm or so, then fibreglass/bog ontop for cosmetic?

There is a place in Queensland that does replacment sills. Do a search in the parts wanted section as the info was posted there awhile ago.
