I know i'll be taken down by you Toyota loyalists for posting a Nissan ad but I need to sell my Grandma's car for her and have missed the Trading Post for this week.
It's a 1990 Nissan Pintara Ti
Specs:
- 2.4L 4 cylider FWD with viscous LSD.
- Power windows.
- Power mirrors.
- Central locking.
- Climate control.
- Grey, comfy velour interior.
- 191,060km.
- Factory 15" alloys.
- Factory driving lights.
Excellent condition... Has had seat covers on all seats since 1996 and has been stored in garage.
Serviced regularly as per most old people's cars... Service history from new.
Looking for $5,600
This is what it looks like (ie: same 2-tone colour, body shape and wheels) but isn't the actual car because I don't have a camera.

God dammit... I just spent $700 on getting the thing up to RWC. It needed a rear engine mount that cost $350 because no-one makes aftermarket ones... 2 tyres and steering rack boots.
Not a peep from anyone.

This Pintara was immaculate... It had a few kms but that was really its only flaw. It was garaged for all its life and had a service history that was no less than the recommended by Nissan. A grandma owned and drove it since 1994 and most of the km were between Castlemaine and Melbourne, not around the city. Maybe $5400 was a little high but they go for $6000 at dealers and most are shit.
I agree, Red Book is bullshit. When I got the insurance money for my stolen car, I got Red Book value. Way less than I paid for it 6 months earlier.

redbook is ideal for insurance companies to rip people off.
and yes the u12 pintaras were a good car. my mate had one many years ago and we did many km's in it - awesome car. bit heavy on fuel though.
