MODS FOR '03 ROLLA??

hey peoples,
im currently in the process of building a corolla hatch and want more oomph fom the engine....
what are some mods i can perform to increase power apart from the obvious IE zorst etc.
also does anyone know if there are turbo kits available for the 1ZZ-FE?

hey buddy.......im going through the same prob with my echo with the 2NZ-FE......wot ive done so far is remove the stock air intake pipe from the air box and replace it with induction hosing that runs down to the front of the car....also added a Toms Air filter for better flow through the box.....has helped with the lower gears...anyway thats a start if you dont want to spend to much $$$$$......on the other hand you are able to pick up K&N induction system that would be alot better....as for turbos you'll just have to let ur fingers do the walking and call performance workshops for prices etc

theres superchargers kits in the states for the 1ZZ-FE, although they are a tad bit expensive.

You have a point, however I would prefer my Lancer over the Echo. Seriously... DUDE! Like... DUDE! They just look... BAD!
No offense Bandit, each to their own, but I wouldn't be proud of owning an echo. And a certainly wouldn't be modifying it. I would be selling it to buy a good car (what I intend to do with the Lancer, once I have saved up enough to make the difference). Oh unless your a chick, then it's okay... I guess. Still an Echo?
In fact, I don't like any modern Toyotas. I like the Altezza, but that's sold as Lexus down here. The new Celica is not my cup of tea at all! They don't make a Supra anymore. All their new cars look awful (especially the Echo). Give the the golden years with the good old Celica with popup lights, the good old Supra MK IV, and Soarer. None of this new shit ('cept the Altezza).

The Echo looks like one of those cars that they used to have on old BAD sci-fi movies that everyone said "Man, I hope cars never look like THAT!"... and now they do.

I have a right to my opinion, as does everyone else. I happen to think that the Echo looks shit. I'm not telling him he can't have one, I'm just saying I don't like it. I happen not to like them a lot. I'm allowed to not like it, right? We don't have thought police just yet. Do we? I'm not saying he is a bad person for liking an Echo, like you are saying I'm a bad person for not liking them. I'm just saying I hate his taste in cars. Or at least, in this car.
I don't think Bandit needs you to stick up for him either. I think he understands where I'm coming from, and he knows I don't drive anything better. As per his post.
And hell, I hang shit on my Lancer all the time. It's a 1.5ltr Carby engine with no balls at all! I bet his echo would spank it all over the place performance wise. I'm more than happy to hear people bag my Lancer. Go for it. But I think my Lancer looks way better than his Echo. Although, his paint job is nicer.
So pennelvan_screema, who the hell do you think YOU are? And whets this your saying? You can’t stand people who point out that it’s just their opinion they are airing, and everyone has a right to their own opinion?

a. something differnt
b. cheap on fuel
c. has a cool dash
where as your lancer has
a. shit style,performance & handiling
b. refer to a
c. its a lancer ffs.

as bigworm says back to the topic
well as you have said apart from the exaust / extractors
as bandit has said a bit air indunction but sometimes its better to put a decent air filter in the box (ie K&N) and get a cold air induction set up made, theres a company called ss inductions that do CAI that bolts on near your radiator and it channels it from the centre to the air box.
hope that makes sense
im not to up on the later model rollas but i assume you could get a bigger throtle body.
ohhh and theres always nawz

i dunno about the exaust voiding warranty my brother gets dealers from toyota,holden & ford getting exaust/extractors made up for the floor cars to show what they can sound.
they've got an is2000 in there for extractors / twin system exaust

do you know toyota service dudes/delaers?
because (not trying to start a debate, just disscusing) the performace exaust place where my brother works does new cars non stop (ie monaros,ss,xr8's,new gt's,lexus) it may just be toyota but why would it void your warrant if it improves economy, doesnt fuck with any internals
ohh well thats why i love my pre emissions car

hey guys thanks 4 sticking up for me but im a big boy.......hey pannelvanscreema thanks for the compliment dude.....going to be dancing the rollas at the dyno day to...so shraka if your game enough bring it on......and speaka haddened really looked at superchargers but thanks for the heads up.........i know of a turbo charged echo running around syd. with 3pd of boost putting aroud 90hp at the wheels......so plenty of room for improvement........and yes it is different thats why i got it.....the club had too many celica and rollas (no offence guys)....but the fact is she does go hard for a little 1.3L ........and i will be at the next broke cruise to.....cyas

you could always ask neal bates how he fits a 3sgte into the current crolla - ive seen versions of that in awd and FWD usng the 2 door bodyshell and OH YAH its good ..
Modified echos - not mu cuppa - though black ones look ok - Starlet GT is my baby boomer Toyoya car  thouse things can hammer

Australia wont see it in a hurry
USA model has an AWD version powered by the 1zzfe or whatever it is ( the 1.8 vvti motor )
neal bates has slotted AWD gear in his from a st205 Gt4 to make his rallycar - as has fensport in the UK .. we havent seen a awd corolla since that wagon thing they made with the seca nose

I got an 02 Rolla, and i was talking to a guy i work with, he reckons he can get mme a full custom exhaust (dunno what extractors) and 80 thou overhead cams for $500 installed thats an extra 30-40 horsies....im thinking bout it
