Ferrari look a like $2200ono

Its basically a ferrari 328 gtb lookalike made by putting fibreglass panels over a ta22 celica, when it came out back in the 80s it was called a "ferrino". Mine is an unfinished project it has a worked 1600 twin cam motor bored out to 1750, twin solex carbs, ramflo filters, extractors,2 inch sports exhaust 5 speed gearbox, corolla diff, its got 14 inch globe mags, sports steering wheel, a full flip front front end, pop up lights, lowered, its got a rough black paint job and a black interior. The car is unregistered and would need to be bluesliped. No rust but a few places need some fibreglassing done, nothing major, car starts and drives also the car comes with a lot of spares, any questions let me know, im located in west sydney,

not gonna wreck it unless i sell the shell to someone first but i figure ill sell it easier as being drivable, the pics when the car was red was the first day i got the car, at that stage it wasnt running and the paint was so bad it made me sick so i gave it a couple coats of black, apart from looking better and also being one colour, black makes it a bit easier to tell wat bits need repair, i have a few more pics and i will send them out to the guys that asked by tonight, thanks

it is the same car accept the first set of pics when the car was red were taken the first day i got the car home, not running, that was a few months ago, since then i have changed the drive train, fixed the brakes and installed the interior then ran out of funds and time, so since the car was 20 different shades of faded red paint i sprayed a few coats of black on it to make it look half decent and cause its easier to repair when its black cause mistakes in the body show more on black than red. I explained this on page 3 yet ppl still speculate on whether its the same car, one more time, the pics where the car is red were taken months ago when i first got the car, the pic when the car is black is a recent pic and is wat the car looks like now

thanks poida, i couldnt agree more, im not asking ppl to love the car im just trying to sell it, if someone has comments good or bad they belong in the general car talk section not in my for sale thread, how would they like it if someone bad-mouthed something they were trying to sell, as for ppl still not sure if its the same car i give up, i said it was several times, the pictures r at the same house taken from the same spot from the same angle

Learn some etiquette that applies here. If you have nothing constructive to say, keep it to yourself. I have seen many of your shit cars and you don't see be heckling you. Also it has been mentioned enough times that the car was originally red and has had alot of work done to it since. How stupid can a person be?
|
Geez, who's the hater now?
The car looks a heap better with the new paint and the engine sounds like a goer.
Is the fibreglass over the existing panels or have they been replaced by the fibreglass?

guards, bonnet, bumpers, grill, lights etc were replaced with a one piece fibreglass front end, the doors have fibre glass inserts, for the rear the bootlid, lights, rear window, bumper, etc were removed and replaced with a one piece fibreglass rear end with a perspex rear window , the whole thing was then bonded and joined at the roof line

fine if u think the car looks stupid, weird, crap, etc u r welcome to ur opinion but why go into my thread and laugh at my car and hurt my chances of selling it. A lot of ppl may not have the balls to drive something different like this car but then again many do
|
I am seriously sorry man. ... That comment was supposed to be two things:
(a) making fun of the retards who kept asking about the similarities between the red car and the black one, even after being told that it is one and the same numerous times.
and (b) a free bump.
I reckon if I had money and space, I'd buy it. I love the look of it now. It seems pretty cool.

well i guess u mean cause the car is mostly fibreglass and not steel/metal right? Thats a fair question, a similar thing happened to a friend of mine who owned a purvis eureka, thats a VW production car from years ago, it has a full fibreglass body, he had just had it sprayed and buffed and on its way back from the paintshop it fell off his trailer and landed on its roof. He couldnt afford to get it fixed professionally so he took a tafe course in fibreglass repair/moulding and he fixed it himself, took some time but i came out really well especially since it was almost totalled falling off the trailer at speed. So i guess if the fibreglass gets smashed badly or otherwise, u d fix it like any other car just using fibreglassing methods, hope this info helps. thanks

Just a question.
Which state are you moving to??
I am trying to sell my Escort RS2000 for around $2,500. If I can sell it then I would be interested. I can picture this car perfectly straight, with Marlbro red paint, 2" lower in the front with a 100Kw or 4A-GZE\GTE under the hood. Be a looker and have the balls to scare some people.

Its a shame ur not interested in a swap, i love escorts, im planning on buying one to restore and register as soon as i move. also ur one of the few ppl who suggested something other than putting a rotary into the car

Who said that i am not interested in a trade??
The escort needs a bit of work (minor rust in usual places). The car would easily pass rego as everything mechanical is in very good condtion.
1980 4 door Ford Escort RS 2000
New engine, 5 speed gear box, new balanced tail shaft, reco'ed diff. Whole new front end, front struts, strut top plates, everything infront of the fire wall.
I am only selling this cheap because I am at uni and had to let the rego run out as I cant afford 2 rego payments.
I am in QLD, Gold Coast

Yes, it a genuine 4 door RS 2000 (Monza red) so it does have the quad lights and nose cone and boot wing. If you are in NSW you would have to trailer the car back (no rego) or risk driving it un rego'ed. It looks like I might be swapping my GZE Twin cam for a sprinter so I might not be looking for another project. Don't want to get your hopes up for a swap as I really want to cut back to just one car. The Escort is for sale though, and you are most welcome to buy it ($2,500 bargain price as this doesn't cover the cost of replaced parts let alone installment). I would rather see the car being used then sitting in my garage wasteing away. I want to see how this swap for the sprinter works out first.
