4AGE SQUEALING! under light acceleration?

Ok its an ae86 running a bigport aw11 4age.
I have just replaced my whole cooling system:
water pump
belt
radiator
hoses
So that is one thing that is eliminated...
It will only do it when lightly revving the engine from idle ie at traffic lights to take off. It will emit a nastily loud squeal (enough to make your ears ring if your above the engine bay.)
It will go away after about a second, but it is annoying the shit out me, not to mention my landlord.
I suspect it may be my timing belt tensioner pulley, as I tightened it the other day and it made one noise go away (sort of a clicking sound like a dying rocker), and since this noise has arisen. I have one from a 100kW engine spare, are these interchangeable (I haven't had the time to check this so I thought I would check before I replace another part that is working fine.)
Any Ideas??
Thanks

Sounds like a loose belt somewhere.

It'd be a loose belt for sure.
Same thing happened to me when i changed the belt/ water pump on my old 5m. It was fine until the belt wore in and then it became too loose and squealed really bad..especially at night with all the moisture in the air.

i dont think its the timing belt tensioner but they will interchange. i would say it is more than likely the tension of the altenator belt. tighten it up a little and spray some belt grip on it.

retension all your 'v' belts (ie water pump/alternator/clutch fan etc). if you think it's tight, then tighten it some more. use a lever of some kind to tension the belt (ie pull down on the alternator or whatever). 5.0cm of play is about right for a 'v' belt at full tension.
while the engine is running, put a candlestick against the belt on the contact side to condition it after all the slippage, otherwise you'll have a shorter belt lifespan. not that it'll do any damage, just saves having to replace a belt more often.

Part of the works Mini's tool kit was a pretensioned fan belt which the driver co-driver had ti change during the rally when rallies lasted a decent time. They actually stretch quite a bit even newly manufactured ones. Retension your belts or use some drilube while the car is running on the belts.
