How are you grounding? I'd try grounding the gauges to something metal on the dash, if you are using an existing wire.
You seem to be running them correctly, as they do need to be in a parallel configuration. Could you try running them straight to the battery together to ensure that it is a problem with the wiring and not a bad supply through the old harness wires.

yeah, they're grounded to the underside of the dash.
i think i'll get a good solid supply straight out of back of the fuse panel and relay it with a fuse actually

Makes sense, i was only suggesting the other for testing, not a permanent solution

Oh well sorted now.
If they were stuffed that's what warranties are for, just make sure you return them one at a time, a week apart and to a different salesperson every time

So, did you end up running ground wires back to near the senders, or just as close as possible to the gauges?
The instructions for mine say to try to ground as close as possible to the sender (probably for accuracy), but i think the difference would be noticable.

good thing you managed to find it... i can't even remember the number of times i've put brand new wire (for various things) in and had a break in the NEW wire.... kinda scary really...
i can only barely imagine!!! something similar to seeing smoke come out of a new aftermarket ECU??
so. when will you have pics
