repsraying bumpers Mon, 22 December 2003 04:58 Go to next message
hey guys. My girfriend stacked her 94' barina into the back of a trailer. I have the upper and lower bumpers in black so I need to spray them white!.
I'm trying to save her as much money as possible by doing most of the work myself. However I can't spray it myself. Can anyone in melbourne help me out with suggestions? Know anyone that can do a simple spraying for me real cheap. Anyone got the tools to do it themselves?

Thanks heaps for any replies in advance.

Cheers, and merry christmas all !
Jacob

Just personal opinion but doing dodgy spray jobs on plastic bumpers often costs more than a good job because you have to do it twice. The correct plastic primer is essential to prevent the paint from becoming just an acryllic skin rather than a properly bonded paint. As soon as the skin is scratched, the whole lot tends to come off. Shocked

Yep if you do decide to do it yourself, look into the correct primers, and also possibly isolaters if the bumper already has paint on it? Perhaps a post looking for a spraypainter who'll accept a weekend cash job and who can colour match, would be the easier option with the best result for you?
